This is a 40 ft houseboat with a master bedroom and large deck for sunbathing. It is a 15 minute walk to beautiful downtown Sausalito. This is a house boat in a real shipyard. This location offers expansive views which include San Francisco Bay, Belvedere Island, and Mt. Tamalpais. There are 2 decks with chairs, bicycles to ride to town, a full kitchen, a queen sized bed in the master bedroom, and an extra sleeping area in the living room. Cloud Nine has a great shower and an electric toilet. Seagulls, great blue herons, cormorants, and an occasional jellyfish will be your neighbors.
I've always had a love of ambiance and living close to nature..so when i saw this boat 13 years ago i had to live on it and experience the life..meanwhile being a creative person, healer and world traveler it continually inspires me. As much as i have traveled i am always blessed to come home to Sausalito and Cloud Nine.
Kym Jessing purchased this house boat in 2000
I chose the boat lifestyle because I was looking for a place to inspire me to write music. I chose this boat over some others because it has big windows instead of portholes so I have big expansive views from every room in the house. I can see the sun rise and set everyday. I keep the boat in this Harbor because there is a lot of space between me and other boats. i never hear the freeway and I have expansive views...It's nice too to feel the rocking of the boat when there is some wind..it's very comforting and soothing to live so close to the elements. Additionally this boat is classy as well as homey.
I recently re-did the upstairs bedroom. In the morning you can sit in bed and drink coffee and see beautiful views from 3 windows. In the evening you can sit on the front deck and watch the sun go down. During the afternoon you can sunbathe on the upstairs deck surrounded with a canvas for privacy. There is a grocery store a block away and some great restaurants like Fish or the Seahorse.
Kym was the best! Very informative and gracious. We loved everything, the upper deck and sleeping in the very nice bedroom. The kitchen has everything you need so eating and preparing food was easy. The surround music was lovely and the setting too. It is a nice community to visit or to live there. For sight seeing there are bikes and there is a lot to see and also just looking out on the top deck was a pleasure! Thank you, Kym
What a lovely stay. From the gentle rocking of the boat, the views of mountains and marina and so on. It was like staying a friend's place - if your friend is cool enough to have a houseboat in Sausalito.
Nothing but great things to say. The place is decorated with little treasures and interesting finds. The boat is really easy to maneuver in and all the appliances and systems were easy to work. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and spices and coffee and everything you need. The shower offered blissfully hot water. The bedroom was cozy and the whole place is rigged for music. The rooftop deck is perfection. There are even bikes.
The area is very local with quiet neighbors who feed the birds and go about their business. You could walk or ride into town.
One note on the toilet paper issue that people have mentioned: we brought dog walk baggies and that simplified that process.
Kym was responsive and easy-going. I can't imagine why I would ever stay anywhere else.
Cloud 9 was beyond anything I could have imagined! Wine and fresh flowers when we arrived. Coffee and coffee press came in very handy! We set some rules around bathroom use since we couldn't flush toilet paper, but there was a fully functioning restroom just down the dock. We so appreciate the hospitality and wonderful stay. It was an experience I will never forget!
Iff you want a travel experience, you've come to the right place. Very cozy and comfortable houseboat in the middle of a shipyard. The boat floats quietly in an environment filled with seabirds. Extremely convenient to a major market, multiple fine restaurants, and the town of Sausalito. Easy to get to from San Francisco.
Enjoy wine on the deck overlooking yachts, working boats, and other houseboats. Watch a movie in bed with a high-def Vizio system. Full galley allows you to cook, but why would you want to with so many restaurants around?
Overall, a fun experience.
Easy to work with the owner and property manager for a hassle-free booking.
The boat was great. Very comfortable. Everything worked well. The deck on the roof is perfect. Bed was very comfortable. Can't beat the location in the middle of Sausalito harbor. Unlike the bigger boats cloud9 rocks ever so slightly in the breeze - just a few inches either direction. Brought a smile to my face every time it happened. We used the two bicycles to cruise town and get groceries, though those places are in walking distance too. Dealing with Kym and Lexi was very easy. Would love to stay on this boat again.
Kym was great to work with--she has lots of little extras that really make you feel at home. The houseboat is charming and provides a different kind of experience in a great location! We will look forward to returning!
Sausalito is a destination people from around the world come to visit, this little town under the Golden Gate Bridge is quaint and beautiful, lot's of shops, cafes, great music, the No Name Bar and easy to get around on a bicycle. Marin County is the home of mountain biking, Muir Woods, the Napa Valley wine country, the wooden boat tour, the bike path between San Francisco, Sausalito and Mill Valley, the Pacific ocean, saunas ,the West Point Inn and the tourist club nestled in the woods.
