This remodeled Austin Stone home was built 42 years ago on a hill overlooking the West side of Austin. You have plenty of cool breezes and none of the bugs you will find in the riverfront properties. There is a private lake about 3 miles from the house, with the entire Texas Hill Country in close proximity.
The house sits on a secluded 6 acre property with lots of parking and space to spread out should you choose to entertain. The house is built around a vaulted ceiling grand room with floor to ceiling fireplace and 55 inch flatscreen TV with Netflix as well as BlueRay DVD player. Sleeping arrangements include loft area with 2 twin bunks and a single twin bed for the kids, a Queen bedroom, and a two twin bedroom. By special arrangements the owner's King bedroom and bath are available as an option.
There is a common bathroom with large step in shower and tank-less water heater for unlimited hot water. The kitchen includes a stainless steel refrigerator, glass-top range, dishwasher, disposal, and RO water dispenser. House water is from Lake Travis LCRA water system.
A comfortable wood deck on the back of the house affords a great place from which to watch the stars and unwind from the day's activities.

My parents built this house in 1970 on property they bought in 1966. We lived in Corpus Christi at the time and moving to the Texas Hillcountry was their dream retirement location.
I went to the University of Texas in Austin and came to love this part of the country. When my parents passed away I took over maintenance and rental of this property. I spend most of the week days here and maintain an office and bedroom/bath in the house. My oldest daughter is a Junior at UT and my wife, younger daughter and I maintain our residence in Dallas.
I am 'semi-retired' as a former network engineer with Texas Instruments. I currently operate a wireless internet company out of this location and provide internet connections to many of the rural locations in the area. Needless to say there is a great wifi hotspot available in and around the main house.
My chief field support technician also lives in a small house on the same property.
This property is an ideal launching place for exploring the Hill Country or coming back to unwind after spending the day in Austin.
The house has been remodeled twice since it was built. The latest changes include all new windows, new central air-conditioners, wood deck and landscaping. There is also a new clothes washer and dryer in the house for your use.

I love the oaks surrounding this home. Oaks only grow so tall when surrounded by the native cedar trees. My parents cut out the cedar over 40 years ago and have given the surrounding trees room to grow. We keep them trimmed so you can enjoy shade as well as allowing the hilltop breeze through.
We can provide electricity and water ( no sewer ) and parking if you bring in a small travel trailer. We are not a trailer park but do have lots of parking. The front and back yard areas offer enough space for you to entertain if you have a large group.

This location is central to all of the great Hill Country activities. Thirty min. from shopping and sightseeing in Wimberley. One hour from the San Marcos river rafting area. One hour and 15 min. from Fredericksburg where third Saturday trade days add to the already fun shopping and dining experience. Only 35 min. to the heart of Austin for shopping on south Congress, several annual music and film festivals, as well as the State Capitol and funky all night partying on the famous Austin 6th street night club area, not to mention UT football and other sports events.
Ten min. from Hamilton Pool Park and Reimers Ranch park for swimming, mountain biking, and rock climbing. Several options for making river Canoe or Kayak treks. More that 12 local wineries all within a 45 min. drive. The closest is less than 4 miles down the road.
