Photos and Description of the Barberino Val d'Elsa vacation house rental 1 bedroom, other small room, living room to sleep 2/5 between Florence and Siena

The property is surrounded by cypress and oak woods, olive and vineyards, dominating a little lonely valley. It is located in one of the most wooded and well preserved part of Chianti Classico area, between S.Donato in Poggio and Castellina in Chianti. It is easy to see roe-deers, even during the day, istrici (a particular kind of porcupine introduced by the romans, emblem of one 'contrada' of Siena's palio ) and wild boars during the night. The house has an entrance hall leading to a living room (double sofa bed to change into two different single beds, chimney) a small separate kitchen, a bathroom and the stairs to the first floor where there is a double bedroom besides a really small room with a chairbed ; a covered veranda leading to a wood of cypresses is built around two sides of the house. Pool 83 square metres wide shared with us and the guests of another house of us open from may to September. Minimum stay 3 days, discount for more than 1 week, please email for price.

The property is located midway between Florence and Siena, about half an hour from both. Nearby the numberless charming hamlets, small villages, churches, castles, spots of Chianti Classico region but also S.Gimignano, with the well known tower-houses, the palaces of Colle Val d'Elsa, birthplace of Arnolfo di Cambio, the architect of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Certaldo, where Boccaccio, the author of Decameron, lived, the fortress of Monteriggioni, just a little farther the etruscan Volterra, Montalcino and Val d'Orcia, the area of thermal hot springs like for instance Bagno Vignoni, showed by Tarkovskj in Nostalghia, Pienza, magnificent example of Renaissance 'città ideale'... Excellent wines and food...

just like to say how much we enjoyed our stay in this lovely spot. The house was very comfortable and extremely clean and well equipped. A car is definately a necessity as it is in an isolated spot with the nearest shop/restaurants being about 4 km away. Great location though for visiting all the major places of interest. Fantastic pool with beautiful views ,extremely welcoming owners and very friendly dog. We appreciated the peace and tranquility of the location - a real place to relax and unwind and we really hope to return for another visit. Many thanks Stefano and family.

Le lieux est charmant, au milieu d'une belle forêt de chêne.Au bord du Chianti ,et tout proche de Florence , Sienne, San Gimminiano, etc.
La maison est bien équilpée, meublée avec goût. La piscine est un bonheur, par les chaudes aprés midi toscannes.
L'accueil à été trés chaleureux (Le propriétaire parle trés bien le français).
Tout est réuni pour passer un excellent séjour en toscanne.

Nice and cosy small house at a well maintained property in an isolated spot. Superb view and super situated large swimmingpool. Friendly owner with a friendly dog and some cats. Car necessary, the next village with supermarket and restaurants is about 4 kilometers apart. The house is ideal for 2 persons, kitchen and bathroom really small. Quiet, clean and nicely furnished. We enjoyed our stay very much and recommend the house firmly.

Wir können das Haus hier nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen und waren sehr positiv überrascht. Sehr gepflegt und sauber. Das Online-Inserat verspricht nicht zuviel.
Die Lage ist äußerst ruhig am Waldrand gelegen, die Umgebung mit viel Liebe und Arbeit angelegt worden.
Schöner, sauberer Pool, sehr netter, höflicher und zurückhaltender Vermieter, der ausgezeichneten Wein in kleinen Mengen produziert.
Terasse, großügiges Gelände, schlichtweg alles was man braucht um "runter" zu kommen.
Hier kann man die Ruhe und Schönheit der Toskana pur geniessen und ausspannen.

Die Lage im allgemeinen ist ausgezeichnet, man ist schnell auf der Superstrada von Florenz nach Siena und kann so zu allerlei Ausflügen starten.
