Charming lake front cottage at the water's edge. Open concept with great views of the lake. Private dock to access the lake's many recreational opportunities. Camp is only 5 miles from I-95 and close to restaurants and shopping
Has a full kitchen with all pots, pans, dishes and utensils for your use! Ceiling fans and floor fans for your use as well! Camp also has internet connection (wifi).
I grew up in Maine not too far from Cobbossee Lake and always dreamed of having a camp on the lake. My family loves to spend time at the lake and we decided to make this possible for others by renting out our camp.
Stephanie purchased this cottage in 2007
Cobbossee Lake really chose us. The lake is close to shopping and restaurants and medical facilities. The cottage is also close to the main road forgoing a long bumpy dirt road experience. The lake is also well known in the area for good fishing. The property was within our budget and it is a cottage, not a fancy house, but someplace that has retained the cottage feel while providing some necessary conveniences.
The breeze is usually perfect, and in the heat of the summers it is usually cooler at the camp. The lot is relatively steep and the water drains very well and this helps keep biting flies away. The best part is when you sit at the dock and you look across the lake towards the light house you can feel the stress melt away.
This was a great place to stay, it was comfortable and everything you needed to enjoy, the view is fantastic. I do think it could use a good clean up. We spent an hour vacuuming cobwebs and dead flys and throwing out some very old food
However we liked the place a lot and after 1st clean we had an exceptional 10 days there. The canoe and fire pit are bonuses
I went to the lake with my boyfriend and our little dog. We had the most relaxing time, it was perfect. Waking up every morning and feeling like you are on top of the lake was perfect. The rental had everything we needed...even water shoes! I liked that it felt like we got away from it all, but if we needed to get to the store for anything, it was easy.
What a wonderful time! The house was cozy and
Very well equipped. Everything very clean and
Welcoming. I even went swimming in the lake!
The water is clean and so beautiful!!!!!
Would return to this home in a minute! Great
Location. Great food in the area. Peaceful and
We enjoyed our stay in your cottage. Everything was great and as described in the listing. The parking is a bit of a pain but if you only have one or two vehicles it's fine. We had a 12ft boat and backing it down the driveway was a bit of an adventure but it worked out fine. Any larger of a boat and it could not be kept in the driveway. The location was perfect and while secluded (there are neighboring camps but you're away from the main road) it's close to the main road and gas/food. Good selection of pots/pans/dishes. Good value and will book again next time in the area.
My sister and myself make the trek from Michigan to Maine once a year. This year we enjoyed our stay at the Lake Cobbossee Camp. The cottage was comfortable, clean, well maintained and certainly contained everything that we could want. The sunrise over Lake Cobbossee out the cottage windows was wonderful. My only caution is that the pictures do not convey the steep climb down wooden stairs from the parking area to the cottage. Anyone with any physical disability would certainly have issues. My sister had a tough time making the trek up and down once a day for our outings. The Augusta area is beautiful and within easy drives of the coast, the New Hampshire White Mts. and the Canadian boarder. We had wonderful day trips and returned to our cute camp at night.
Our month long stay was waonderful at the cottage on Lake Cobbossee. The only drawback that we had was the steps getting into and out of the cottage, but our age had alot to do with that! The cottage itself is gorgeous and just perfect for spending days (and nights) on the lake. The loons were always present and because it was fall, we also enjoyed Canadian Geese which were migrating. The location is superb with the interestate, close to the city to get things needed, close to the coast, etc. etc. It was the absolute perfect spot for us to be there and enjoy friends and family and celebrate a family wedding. We were happy with the spaciousness and also the quiet that we had as all other neighbors were gone due to the time of the year. All togegther, it was a wonderful experience!
