Österlen is the southeastern part of the Swedish province of Scania. The area is known for its natural beauty, agriculture, beautiful beaches and picturesque villages. The house is situated in the middle of a cute village called Sankt Olof. Your apartment is at the ground floor of the house. You also have access to the cute little guest house that belongs to the house. A family is living permanentely in the top apartment of the house. Your apartment is sunny and bright and furnished in a mix of old and contemporary. You also have access to a big garden with both sun and shade (shared garden). Your flat is about 75 sqm and the guest house approximately 30 sqm.. There is a bedroom with a double bed. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with a dining place with a kitchen sofa, bathroom/toilet, double living room with a big table and chairs, two beds (that can be used as a sofa during the days), a sofa table, TV and a stove. Guest house have 4 beds (1 double bed and 2 single beds).

Österlen is famous due to its natural beauty, agriculture, beautiful sandy beaches and picturesque small villages -and fantastic golf courses. Östelen has a lot to offer for those who love the good things in life! Examples of things to see: Ale's Stones (Ales stenar in Swedish) is a megalithic monument, probably from circa 600 CE, that is, the end of the Nordic Iron Age. Dag Hammarskjöld's farm at Backåkra, It is now a museum displaying artefacts of his tenure at the UN. Glimmingehus, is the best preserved medieval castle in Scandinavia. It was built 1499-1506. Many artists live at Österlen. Every Easter there is a major art exhibition where many artists show their work in their own homes. Stenshuvud is a very beautiful hill, close to Kivik. Since 1986, it is one of the National parks of Sweden. The park covers an area of about 3.9 km². The Kivik Market is very old and famous. It started already during the Hansa period and has been held yearly in July since 1866.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A booking deposit of 50% is payable on reservation. The remainder is payable after further instructions from us.
    All linens and towels (except beach towels) are included. Cleaning will be charged with 15 euros per head, however with a minimum fee of 50 euros.
  • There are radiators in all rooms as well as 2 wood burning stoves and this makes the house suitable for all year round rental. This is a non-smoking house. Pets are considered.
