You will get a warm and cozy feeling from the moment you walk in the door. I built the cabin for that reason. I did not want just another city house. The home is all warm wood. Not a stick of dry wall to be found. The house features two bedrooms both with king beds. There are two more queen beds if you're up to climbing a ladder to a loft over looking the living area. Older kids love this space. There is a fire place in the living area as well as one in the master bedroom. Two full baths. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you may need. Dining room off the kitchen looks over the lake. The master bedroom and bath will knock your socks off. Large with walk out sliding doors leading to a deck and over looking the lake. A spiral staircase goes up to a office space also looking over the lake. Master bath features a large glass block shower, twin sinks, bidet, private toilet, and a jetted corner tub looking over the lake as well. This a very cozy home and perfect for one couple, two couples or a family with older kids. It has been used for two honeymoon couples and they loved it. Located in a quiet cove with an unspoiled view of the mountains and not a lot of other houses. At times I enjoy the winter most. Light both fire places and curl up to a good book. The house is easy to get to. Just four tenths mile from a US highway. Paved all the way to the door. If you enjoy fun times and crazy things you will enjoy the walls decorated with toboggans, sleds, ice skates, fun posters, old large hornets nest, fishing poles, etc. Enjoy the use of two kayaks on the lake. Now with wifi internet access if you must bring work to the lake. Please be aware this is a NO SMOKING home
I raised three boys at the lake and they grew to love going there. Many of their friends also visit often. During the years we met many nice folks close by. Wonderful place to grow up.
Jim Gardner purchased this cabin in 1967
From the very first time I saw Lake Burton I knew I had to have a piece of paradise. Best thing I ever did.
My favorite part of the cabin is the warmth and cozy feel.
We enjoyed our stay and it was so relaxing. The fireplaces helped to keep us warm and added to the relaxation. The cabin had everything we needed and the master bedroom and bath was amazing. A perfect place to recharge.
WHAT A GREAT WEEK AT THE LAKE! THIS BEAUTIFUL CABIN HUGS YOU THE MINUTE YOU WALK IN. THE AMAZING RUSTIC FURNITURE AND STONE FIREPLACES FIT RIGHT IN WITH THE BEAUTY OF LAKE BURTON. EARLY MORNING COFFEE ON THE PORCH OR THE TOP OF THE BOAT HOUSE MAKES FOR A PERFECT SUNRISE. PEACEFUL AND TRANQUIL FROM THE MOMENT YOU WAKE TILL YOUR HEAD HITS THE PILLOW. DOCKING OUR BOAT WAS EASY BECAUSE OF THE MANY DECK OPTIONS. THE HOME OWNERS WERE GREAT AND WE WILL RETURN SOON!
I have to say we were all very pleased with this property! It was home away from home the minute we walked in, very clean and when they say beautiful view they mean it. What a perfect location, very easy to find and easily to access. This cannot be said for some properties on this beautiful lake. The boat house was great, nice area to tube and ski and be able to watch right from boat house. Plenty of room for personal boats as we brought 2. By far the best time we have had at the lake yet and we have been coming for quite a few years. We will definitely be going back to this property, the owners were the BEST!!! Thanks Jim! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
Truly nifty house nestled way up the Tallulah River where the water is still, deep, and green. There were only four of us (plus a well-behaved dog), but the elaborate floor plan could have easily accommodated a dozen guests between the bedrooms, lofts, nooks, and crannies. Huge master suite and jacuzzi tub in the master bath. All modern amenities were present in contrast to the place my family had on the same lake forty years ago. Multi-level porches, dock, boathouse, and boardwalks insured there was always a great place to get sun, and there was dock space enough for two or three boats. Great place for romantic getaway, small corporate retreat, or writing and recording a record album. Hope to come back next month for our anniversary.
We really enjoyed our stay at this rustic cabin. Very spacious with lots of outdoor space. Beautiful and quiet location. Kayaks were so nice to use. We will go back for sure!
Two weeks of total relaxation. Modern amenities are available, but we chose to unplug from the world and submerse ourselves in just our tight-knit family. No distractions, and the perfect place to enjoy just being "us". The uniqueness of this little paradise offers cozy corners for reading a good book, playing a board game with the kids, listening to your favorite Eagles album, or just simply listening to the rain falling through the trees. Lots of room for adults and kids, and hideaways are easily found for privacy. We can't wait to do it again in 2014.
This cabin is on the shore line of one of the most beautiful lakes in the country. The elevation of 1800 feet keeps it like spring in the summer. About an hour to the Smokey Mountain Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wonderful roads to ride and explore. Motorcycle heaven. Delightful small towns to enjoy with great stores to shop. Fish in one of the many Trout Streams or drop a line in the lake. If you like to gamble there is a casino 50 minutes away just over the border in NC.
