Prescott Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Immaculate, comfortable, great location for guests and their pets!

Enjoy your Prescott vacation amid the beautiful historic homes tree-lined South Mt. Vernon Avenue. Just blocks away from the quaint shops, restaurants, and attractions of historic downtown Prescott, AZ. Also within walking distance to our public library and live performance theaters. No stairs (3 steps inside), non-smoking, pet friendly, top location!

The Cedar (two bedroom/one bath) cottage sleeps 2-6 people. Originally built in 1923, this cottage has been remodeled to include a sun porch, cathedral ceilings and many windows creating an abundance of natural light. The great room boasts urban chic decor, sparkling clean tile floors, satellite flat-screen TV, queen sofa bed, stereo, fully outfitted kitchen and an overall feeling that is open and airy. Just off of the great room is the comfortable sun porch; a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or your afternoon wine. The master bedroom is carpeted and is complete with a queen bed, crisp white linens, night tables with reading lamps, ceiling fan, cable TV, large closet and dresser. The secondary bedroom is carpeted and includes another queen size bed, ceiling fan, reading light, crisp linens, dresser, and lovely soft colors.

We LOVE dogs. Please feel free to bring yours. If your pups are socialized, we invite them to romp in the fenced yard with the dogs of other guests. In addition to the fenced yard, you dogs will love taking you just 2 blocks to Acker Park. Acker Park is 80 acres of natural parkland within the City of Prescott. Your 4-legged family members will particularly enjoy the one-mile loop trail: lots of great smells, bushes, and places to run. A reasonable pet fee will apply to your stay in Cedar Cottage.

Being 5 blocks away from historic Courthouse Square, our location allows you to take sidewalks to all of the sites and sounds of downtown Prescott, Courthouse Square and Whiskey Row. However, once home, you’re back to small town peace and quiet. Speaking of peace and quiet, a 5-minute drive due south will put you in the Prescott National Forest complete with hiking, canoeing, fishing, fabulous vistas and amazing air!

Did you know that the Prescott’s year-round activities have made it one of the top destinations in the Southwest? Stroll to the dozens of antique shops, boutiques, stunning art galleries, and restaurants from your cottage. Enjoy the nightlife of Whiskey Row, as well as Prescott’s new state-of-the-art library also within walking distance. We also have several public golf courses nearby so bring your clubs!

With an average of 360 days of sunshine per year and four mild seasons, Prescott is a year-round destination. Prescott is known internationally for the World’s Oldest Rodeo in July, the Prescott Bluegrass Festival in June, dozens of arts and craft shows (some juried), and the Cowboy Poets Gathering. Did you know that Prescott is recognized as Arizona’s ‘official’ Christmas City? Join us for the spectacular tree lighting on Courthouse Square and our electric parade. Also, be part of the thousands of people who stroll the free live entertainment featured in every downtown shop for Acker night in December; a music festival like no other! Kim and Rick Roberts live in Prescott. They moved here 11 years ago because of Prescott’s mild climate, great location, small-town feel with big town activities. They love the uniqueness of Arizona’s former territorial capital with it’s Western flavor and artistic venues (not to mention the free live music throughout town). Both have traveled extensively around the world and have picked Prescott as their home. Kim is a retired REALTOR having served the Prescott area for 10 years. Rick is a retired commercial airline pilot. Being a retired REALTOR makes Kim a wonderful resource for people looking for REALTORS, homes and land. Kim and Rick have 4 wonderful grandchildren and two rescue dogs Buck and Claire.

COMFY COZY!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed in Cedar Cottage with our two greyhounds during a freak storm in April. It was perfect! We were warm and comfortable and had plenty of room for our dogs, bikes, and us. I especially liked that we could wash clothes in the washer after a day of riding in rain and mud. The grass area was perfect, and the short walk to Acker park made the dogs extra happy. We walked to downtown restaurants and never had to drive our car. The neighborhood is quiet and we enjoyed all the historic homes. We will definitely be back next year!

NO SNOW AND SUNSHINE!!!

  • 4 of 5
The cottage was exactly as depicted in the photographs and description on the website. We were very satisfied with the facilities, especially the kitchen which included all sorts of items we wouldn't expect to see in a rental property. (Maybe we can be forgiven for mentioning that it would have been nice to include a teapot - we are from England originally!)
Prescott is a lovely town, with all sorts of activities, and S. Mt Vernon is a very pretty street. The trees were just developing leaves when we were there. The National Forest surrounding the town is a wonderful venue for hiking, mountain biking etc with a very extensive trail system.
We took a day trip to the Grand Canyon. It makes for a long day but worth it if you start early.
Overall we were very pleased with the cottage, the facilities and the surrounding area.

CUTE COTTAGE!

  • 5 of 5
We spent two + weeks in Cedar Cottage and enjoyed every minute! It can sleep six, the kitchen is a good size for cooking complete meals or just making a snack. It was fully equipped with everything from coffee, hot chocolate, limited spices to wine glasses! It has good light with several large windows. Towels nice and fluffy, bathroom compact, but very adequate with both shower and tub. The cottage was immaculate with above- average bedding and flat screen TV. Kim and Rick are always available for any questions you may have. We also loved the fact there was a fenced side yard as we had two pups and it made it so convenient to be able to just open the door and let them out.

We would certainly recommend this property for either a weekend stay or multiple weeks. It is just a few blocks from the square, and many eating places. Thanks, Kim and Rick, for making our stay so pleasant!

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND

  • 5 of 5
we had in this cozy cottage. We were there for the annual Christmas parade which was wonderful! The cottage is beautifully finished with comfortable furniture and plenty of ways to keep warm. I mention this because it was a very cold weekend and, in fact, snowed on Saturday night during the Courthouse lighting. We woke to pristine white snow Sunday morning which was quite a treat. I am so looking forward to spending a month this summer in another of Kim's cottages.

TERRIFIC VISIT

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I had a great time staying at this cottage. First of all, in my opinion, Mount Vernon is one of the prettiest streets ever. It was such a treat to drive up and down that street and see homes that look like they are from a Norman Rockwell painting. The Christmas lights at the Court House downtown were so spectacular. The cottage was immaculate and nicely decorated. Kim provided sheets so our large dogs could sit on the couch and sleep on the bed with us without getting fur here, there, and everywhere. The mud room near the front door with the washer and dryer was a nice surprise. We didn't use them, but it's good to know they are there if you need them. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. All in all, it was everything we hoped for. We plan on returning if they'll have us. Thank you.

PRESCOTT PARENT

  • 5 of 5
Cedar Cottage was charming and comfortable with a great, spacious well-equipped kitchen. The listing description was accurate as regards the location, and the space was even more inviting than the photos. It was clean, well-maintained, and well-thought out in terms of amenities and energy efficiency. The owner was kind and friendly. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative, or for myself for a repeat visit!
