Renovated fifties lake house. Built by the local car dealer to be the jewel of Flathead Lake. The lot was split and a single-story home built in front, so we do not have lake access. We do have fantastic views from our perch 100 yards from the lake.
Lake opportunities are a minute's walk away. Nearby you will find SK marina, offering boat put in, dock slips, jet ski/boat rentals and scenic lake cruises. Further down Glacier Raft company offers daily white water trips, chartered fishing and sea kayak rentals.
Beotchler Park is ½ mile (ten minutes walk) east. The Park has a picnic area, swimming, showers, zero-entry beach for young swimmers, horseshoes, volleyball, concessions, paddleboat rentals, 27-holes of golf and the Port Polson Players live summer theatre.
You will find the lake ever-present while you hang out at 'home'. The dining room and living room flow together into a spacious, great room. A row of picture windows run the entire lake side of the home offering splendid views of Polson Bay. In the dining area, a wood Murphy bed rests in the original built-ins. A dining table seating 8 overlooks the water. A giant, cozy sectional defines the living room making it the perfect place to relax for a movie, game, book, or to watch the weather moving in over the lake. We provide cable TV, high speed internet, free long distance, DVDs, games and a small varied library, including children's books.
One bedroom is very large (12' x 12') with a reading nook, lots of closets and two lake-view windows. The other patio-side bedroom is more modest (8' x 13') with a double bed and a dresser, All our beds are new and our bedding tasteful, selected for high thread count and quality fabric.
The pink kitchen features the original custom refrigerator/freezer and built-in blender and griddle. All modern conveniences —toaster, microwave, coffeemaker, and teapot—are also present. We provide a set of good pots and pans, matching place settings, tasteful silverware and quality bakeware. Everything you need to make, serve and enjoy a great meal is here. We even have a small cookbook library.
The back barbeque deck, with art deco railing, faces the lake and has large eaves, offering ample shade during the heat of the day. Bathed by full sun early in the morning and late in the day, this is a great spot to enjoy a quiet breakfast or sip wine and watch night fall over the lake. On the south side of the house, there is a large flagstone garden patio, This patio is the perfect place to work on your tan or read a book.
Our lot has ample parking. Our big grassy lawn, is perfect for Frisbee, croquet or badminton. A small undeveloped wetlands/ woods to the east provides a haven for the wildlife-- deer, raccoon, fox, ducks and geese, doves and songbirds, gulls, eagles, owls and hawks—often spied from our property. . We have the rackets, mallets, Frisbees, and binoculars.
Everything is within walking distance. Polson, the largest town on Flathead Lake offers art galleries, book stores, gift shops, dining, health food, yoga classes, a 2-screen movie theater, Kwa Tuq Nuk Best Western Casino, and several city lake parks.
Within a few hundred feet you will find groceries, banking, gas/car wash, videos, espresso, McDonald's, Ace Hardware, and Pizza Hut.
Burgerville, Polson’s favorite fast food (seafood baskets, burgers, chicken, malts) is directly across the street. The Hot Spot, an excellent, family run Thai restaurant, is 4 doors down.
A designated bike trail runs in front of the house and connects to Polson (west) and the Walmart/Safeway shopping center (east) . A hundred yards north, the old railroad bed has been converted to a 15-mile non-motorized walk/bike path. Several nice biking loops using this path and the country roads south of town are available. WE PROVIDE BIKES.
Hunting is available outside Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge and Pablo Reservoir National Wildlife Refuge. Wheat fields and wetlands are found all over the Mission Valley, so, fall hunting near Polson is great for pheasant partridge, ducks and geese. Pablo Reservoir National Wildlife Area --10 minutes from our door doorstep--provides refuge to upland birds and roughly 80,000 ducks each fall. Hunting is available on thousands of acres of State and Salish Kootenai Tribe lands. One hour south Ninepipe National Wildlife Area offers even more great habitat and nearby hunting. Your dogs are welcome (just keep the Beggar's Lice and mud outdoors).
