Seaspray Barbados - Luxury Ocean Front Beach House

Seaspray House offers two (2) apartments for rent with private entrances, private patios, and private entrance to Beach and Sea. The view from both patios overlooks the Caribbean Sea. You can hear the relaxing sound of the waves day and night. The sea breeze is cooling and the view is as good as it gets!

The kitchens are fully fitted with all appliances and the living and dining area is very comfortable and stylish. The bedrooms are air conditioned and there are ceiling fans throughout. Maid service is weekly (extra can be arranged if required). Other domestic services can be arranged (for example: a cook, driver, masseuse, or child care services).

Seaspray is just a few minutes walk from the renowned 'Fish Pot Restaurant' which is open for ocean front breakfast, lunch and fine dining at dinner.

If you want to experience a taste of local fanfare, take a 5 minute walk to 'Moontown' where you will find some great local food, comraderie and convenience store.

History: Seaspray House is owned by Les Conley Warner. The property was hand built by his parents, Joseph and Daphne, in the early 1950's. During the 1960's The United States of America had a Naval Base station in Barbados. The Navel Commander and personnel from the Base rented Seaspray House for several years during that time.

A decision was made to refurbish the house into villas in 2005.

If you want real oceanfront, look no further. The view is spectacular from the balcony. Its a Jaw-Dropper the first time you see it. You can always hear the ocean waves coming into the shore. The small sandy beach is virtually your own, as it is protected by coral rock both sides and a larger beach is a short walk south (Bring your snorkel gear). Villa is well-equipped, clean, modern and was spacious enough for the four of us. We were very comfortable at Seaspray; we believe it is very good value for money. The bus stops nearly right outside, but a car will come in very handy as the Villa is set in a small village location. Definitely not the St. Lawrence Gap. Moontown is a short walk and the supermarket there sells nearly everything you could need. Mertons is a must-do for the fish fry - Oceanfront dining on a budget, but the BBQ fish is fabulous. The Fish-Pot restaurant is close by (you could walk it but we chose to drive) and very good. The owner of Seaspray was very welcoming and attentive. We would go back again, for sure.

GOOD SNORKELING

We had a great time at the villa and enjoyed the surrounding beaches and attractions. The house was well furnished and comfortable. The small sand area at the base of the stairs (perhaps 10 steps) was an easy into the water most of the time. In January (and we have seen this all over the Caribbean) the ocean is a little rougher than late spring (which is considerably calmer) so there were times when the waves were crashing a little to heavy to safely enter there but the one minute walk to either Smittons (to the right out the door) or Half Moon Fort beach (to the left) were available. We snorkled just about all the beaches down the west coast during our two week stay and saw turtles at Smittons and Carlisle but no where else. However, the snorkling was good in more or lesser degrees on all the beaches and some had very interesting underwater topography. Shopping was very easy and while we stopped at SuperCenter on the way to the house, we felt Jordan's had everything we needed and shopped there the rest of the time. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony each evening (we had the upper level) and watching the boats. We like to be in the more family areas of an island and having beaches to ourselves rather than in the hotel areas so this place was great for us. There are large number of fish available just at the house beach and you can often see them from the balcony. The dog that others mention does do his barking but was not a problem for us, however, visitors should be aware that this property is on the beach and therefore has considerable traffic in front of the house which is typical for beach homes on the more populated islands such as Barbados. The bus system is the best we have seen on any island (or any other place we have been) with busses available every few minutes it seemed (but also going by in front of the house!). All in all though, a very nice stay and the people of Barbados were extremely friendly and open to visitors. If you rent a car (as we did), have your phone GPS or GPS available because the road marking are few and far between!!

SEASPRAY IS A MUST FOR PEOPLE WANTING TO EXPERIENCE REAL BARBADOS!

We arrived late as our flight was delayed in Toronto. Learning to drive on the left in the dark and rain was fun as we made our way up to Saint Lucy. Tricia was there waiting for us to check us in. She was so helpful and accommodating. She was available many times throughout our stay to help out with many helpful tips. She even put us in contact with a gentleman in the Barbados Yacht Club that ultimately helped us get on a sailboat for the Mount Gay Rum Round Barbados Regatta. THANK YOU TRICIA!!!
The condo is amazing and much like other reviews have pointed out, the owners contacted us several times to ensure our stay was going well. Nice touch! The waves crash below the condo making this an ideal getaway from city life. We didn't rent the bottom unit as we thought the upper unit had a better view. BOTH upstairs and down are nice places as we had the opportunity to see both before we left.
The stairs down to the beach were easy to navigate and are shared with neighbors Karl and Lisa. We met Karl and his friend Steve while they returned from a day of fishing. After a nice conversation, Karl invited us to watch the sunset with his wife Lisa right next door at Half Moon Fort. What an amazing Bajan couple! ENGAGE WITH LOCALS, YOU'LL BE AMAZED AT HOW THEY WELCOME YOU INTO THEIR LIVES! So nice!
Locally, just 1 minute walk up the road on the right is St. Elmos Sports bar and grocery store with local Bajan cuisine! Say Hi to Lucy for me! They also have Karaoke on the weekends. The bakery is amazing too although you might miss it if you didn't know it was on your left when entering the grocery store. Across the street is Merton's which has a fish fry Fridays and Saturdays. A far different experience than Oistens! More of a local feel to it than touristy. I highly recommend visiting these places. Also, be entertained by some of the most energetic domino players I have ever seen!
Yes, the neighbor has a dog that they leave outside and had barked occasionally at night. Give a shout at the dog to quiet him down. A shame the neighbor can't be a little more considerate of the dog and the people around him but sometimes that's just people isn't it? The noise was minimal and not anything more than I would expect living in a local neighborhood.
We would stay here again on when we return to Barbados.

WONDERFUL STAY

Although a little apprehensive at how far up the west coast we were driving to Sea Spray, it turned out to be an excellent location - cross island access to Andromeda Botanical Gardens and our favorite deserted beaches on the east coast for those long walks, close access down to the shopping in Holetown (SuperCenter for the one stop shopping for supplies for the week) and Speightstown and also the central island attractions such as Harrison's Cave & Welchman's Gully.
We visited the tourist chaos on the south coast and realized we had made the right choice.
Fishpot Restaurant a short walk away provided an excellent dinner out.

The house is beautifully located right on the cliff with sea pounding below - great to hear the waves and have the gorgeous view. Plenty of room and everything you need for the stay - this is a great choice.

Tricia the Manager was helpful with advice, waiting for us on arrival and dead on time for departure and responsive by phone. Thanks Tricia!

Got a couple of calls during week from the owners to make sure all was going well. Very welcoming. Much appreciated.
We are looking forward to a return visit!

FANTASTIC SEAVIEW

Our family of 5 spent 2 fantastic weeks at the Seaspray. The house is on top of a secluded bay, looking out over the ocean and coral cliffs, with a direct view to the sunset every day. It does not get more beautiful than this. The beach below is great for svimming, snorkeling and playing in the waves, but not for tanning. The area is a little away from the bigger hotels, which we enjoyed. Furthermore, the owners and the house managers are very helpful and professional about everything (thank you very much) and the facilities are flawless and as described on the website, so we were very happy campers. Only issue is noise when sleeping with open windows: the dog next door barks a lot early in the morning, and the road is right outside so traffic is heard.

WE STILL CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS TRIP!

We still can't stop talking about this trip!

This was our 2nd trip to Barbados and the first time around we stayed in the St. Lawrence Gap and enjoyed a lot of the major tourist attractions. The pictures and descriptions of Sea Spray set the perfect tone for the kind of vacation we were looking for this time. We wanted a nice quiet place on the beach, privacy, convenience and cleanliness.
Sea Spray exceeded every single expectation we had for our trip! The pictures can't possibly give you the same sense of peace and joy as actually waking up every morning to the sight of beautiful blue waters right out your window! Or enjoying the calm tide with a brand new sunset every evening! Or feasting on our daily catch for dinner under what seemed like an endless canopy of stars!
The Villa itself: PERFECT!!! Everything about Sea Spray Villa was amazing! It was so clean, and was equipped with everything you can possibly need for your stay. The kitchen had all the tools needed to prepare delicious meals, snacks and drinks. Both levels were well kept and the lower patio was the perfect spot to start and end each day! Tricia the property manager, was so helpful and patient in answering all our questions and really helped us feel very comfortable from the get go.

We initially planned on renting a car for our 10 night stay, but we could barely get ourselves out of the water at our own private beach. We spent the majority of our days on our beach. (We brought floaters/snorkel gear which were perfect and were used daily) We found the city and private buses extremely convenient and very affordable at $2/trip. When we did leave Sea Spray we used them to see the North Coast Cliffs, Bathsheba on the East Coast (which should not be missed!), and to town. We did one main grocery haul from Jordans in Speightstown and fresh produce from the markets there. Throughout our stay we crossed the street to the local store to pick up anything extra. The locals were extremely pleasant and helpful and made us feel right at home.

Les and Linda- Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful piece of paradise! This was a trip that our family will forever cherish as it gave us a chance to really spend some quality time together and enjoy all the things we love most! On our last day our taxi arrived promptly at 12:30 and we were all still enjoying the beach up until 12! After 10 days we really felt like we were at home and were sad to say goodbye to Sea Spray.

FANTASTIC FAMILY HOLIDAY

Our family have just returned from seaspray barbados after a fantastic 10 day stay in this beautiful holiday home. We were first timers to this type of holiday - it was so easy to organise. Communication from the warners and trisha was really fast and so helpful. Trisha organised transfers from the airport for us so we stepped off the plane into a taxi and then into the sea - all very stress free. We arrived on a friday late afternoon and st elmos mini market is about 2 mins walk up the road which is open 08-00 til 23.00 ish and has everything you could need really well stocked. The pictures of this house do not prepare you for how beautiful it is and how well maintained. The kitchen is home from home - with every appliance you could think of. Its really clean and also cleaned again for you during the week.Our children are 10 and 15 and for this age group couldn,t want for more- great activity beach lots of snorkling. We bused all over the island with ease never used a taxi from right outside the front door... Became regulars at speightstown bus terminal where you can get everywhere you need -again really helpful staff. The fish pot is a 5 min walk down the beach for a drink where they have a safe swimming area for toddlers and lovely rum punch not for toddlers!! Allynes beach is a 15 min bus ride with a great lunch bar and you can swim with wild turtles just off the beach.Loads of great things to do in barbados.
In summary the house is a real treat - spacious and light and steps down to secluded beach which our kids swam from day break til sun set off.Trish would have organised any thing we wanted but we were happy to muddle along. She is in phone contact at all times. 2 mins to shop with all you will need , mertons fish fri thur fri and sat is family friendly and well priced. Moon town feels really safe and i was sad to leave. A great value holiday -we will return as soon as possible.
