Original and panoramic apartment, on the third floor of a 1878 building (without lift): from the windows you can see, at the end of the street, the majestic Fori Imperiali, with their temples and columns. The sunny, bright and spacious apartment, has been completely renovated and equipped with all modern comforts: TV, DVD, washing machine, dishwasher. Soft colours and sophisticated details make the flat original and charming. The furniture, that matches modern style pieces with some fine antiques, is very elegant and comfortable. The apartment can fit up to 5 people and consist of a large entrance-living room, two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and one with a single bed and two pouffe beds, a dining room for 6 people, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bath with shower.

The apartment is situated in the characteristic Rione Monti that was originally one of the most ancient suburbs of Rome. It is in the heart of the historical centre just a stones throw away from the The Colosseum and the Imperial Forums and the Roman Forum. MONTI district, with its narrow cobbled streets, is one of the most picturesque and lively areas of the whole city, bordered by Via Nazionale, Via Cavour and Via dei Fori Imperiali. There are stores of all sorts, including antique shops, designers boutiques, jewellers, as well as small fine food shops, bakers and greengrocers, bars and restaurants, theatres and cinemas. It is one of the most well connected areas in the city center: nearest metro stops are Colosseo and Cavour; only a short walk from Pantheon, Fontana di Trevi, Quirinale, Piazza Navona and Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore

We are a family of 5: parents and 3 adult children.
This apartment will hopefully be okay at some point, but it is not now.
Good location near ruins, but pix not taken from apartment (no views from apt at all); about a 15 walk to Colliseum/even closer to Forum. 5 min walk to Cavour metro.
Apt appeared clean at 1st, but lots of dust/mold on closer inspection
Has double bed and 3 singles; 2 of which are uncomfortable cots.
No sofa in living room (we used DR chairs, most of which are metal)
No AC (lots of fans though) – was warm when we were there; very noisy street (hard to sleep at night d/t need to open windows)
No English channels on TV (would have liked for weather, news) Can't use dishwasher (blocked by fridge)
Washing machine: seems to not work properly (2.5 hours to complete cycle, owner didn't know to use "because that was women's work")
Lots of personal items (not sure what was ok to use), but only one dishtowel/no cloth or sponge)
Elevator is being installed but was not working
Cannot recommend this apartment at this time
Eat at nearby restaurant (Cavour 313) – best meal of entire trip

Fantastic location and unbeatable value

This is a spacious apartment in a terrific, central location. We were a party of four adults and a young child and did not feel cramped. The place is clean and fairly well maintained, and the rental agent provided good communication and a simple transaction. (Though, there's no microwave or dishwasher as indicated in the description--well, the dishwasher IS there, but we couldn't open it without moving the fridge!) We enjoyed getting to know the neighborhood a bit and taking in all of the sights. There are decent delis and small grocers on Serpentina for groceries. Try the brew house (Moretti) on Serpentina for good beer and fantastic food. We could not at all recommend the wine bar that is right next to the fountain at the end of the street as we found the service rotten there.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
