Unique and totally private contemporary house that set on a 3 acres breezy hill top with gorgeous views & private pool, 2 large bedrooms and one small, 2 baths, 3 large decks and interior garden. Very high ceilings, cross ventilated rooms, hammocks, lounge chair, etc.
We built our dream house property in 2008 and feel it is the best place to live in Belize!
Katia Paradis purchased this house in 2008
The property sets on the top of a breezy hill with a majestic view we never get tired of looking at. It offers the privacy and intimacy of a resort while not being too isolated and close to the groceries store and bustling village life. In fact, we were not the first one to find this location as a premium spot, while building the foundations of the house, we found 2 ancient Mayan foundations laying one on top of another. We believe it is a great property for those who go for the car rental option, preferably a SUV, either in San Ignacio or Belize City and explore the area at their own rhythm without being bound to any schedule. The road access to the house is a dirt path, often bumpy, that gets muddy on rainy season.
On days where everyone complains about heat and humidity and get to our place, they are always surprised by how much more comfortable and cooler it is up there.
Our stay was amazing and the staff was perfect. Our only need was more pool towels. If we decide to come back to Belize with another couple we will absolutely be contacting you. Thank you for sharing your home. We loved our time there.
This was the perfect place for our family to take a two night break between other locations in Belize. Very nice modern home with lovely grounds and views. We arrived around dinner time, so we were pleased to have arranged ahead of time to order some of Consuelo's fabulous home cooking. It was nice to have her daughters available for translation services as well. The location was very easy to find and to get to and from both St Elena & San Ignacio.
Perfect house and so close to everything. I can't imagine choosing a hotel over this.
We had a great stay. The home was clean, well cared for, gorgeous views, with a terrific view, breeze and vibe. San Ignacio is also a lot of fun, we would love to return soon.
We spent a week in this house - 4 adults and 2 young children. The house is great, and Consuelo (the housekeeper) was wonderful, even sticking around late into the evening and meeting us down at the main road when our arrival flight was delayed. Katia (the owner) was extremely helpful and responsive with recommendations for local activities, groceries, etc. As others have noted, you feel like you're off in you're own hilltop location while staying here, but it's only about 10 minutes to San Ignacio/Saint Elena. There are all kinds of activities within a 1-hour drive of here, everything from incredible Mayan ruins to caves to river tubing adventures and more. And the pool is fantastic to have at your disposal on a hot day (all of them while we were there!). As others have noted you will probably want to have a 4WD car (or at least one with pretty good clearance as the driveway is bumpy) but you are going to want one of those for virtually anything you're going to do in Belize. We loved our stay and would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks Katia and Consuelo!
This amazing property was a perfect home base for us to explore the Cayo region from! Very comfortable all the way around, spectacular views, and Consuelo was a sweetheart :) I will definitely recommend the place to others traveling in Belize, and can't wait to go back, and bring friends! Katia was very helpful in sending great directions with photos, so it was easy to find, and I could feel all the good energy of her family in the home :)) Thanks Katia and Consuelo..it was truly a pleasure!
This place was beautiful and had some cool construction details. The pool overlooks the valley and provided a refreshing and fun activity. Consuelo was great and had her son Eric there to help interpret for her :) She even showed up the last day with two Mayan dolls for our daughters after she found out that it was one of their birthdays. Would definitely recommend this place for families and individuals (already have). As mentioned in other reviews, the road is rugged but that is typical for Belize. Location makes you feel like you are far away from the town but actually is close (driving) to plenty of amenities in San Ignacio and Santa Elena. The owner was very helpful with sending out directions before hand. Thank you :)
