Our One Week Stay
Our party of four loved our stay here. The only negative is that we were gone so much everyday to really enjoy the place. The view of Zion was amazing and it was worthwhile to get up early in morning to see the sunrise landscape (it's what we came here for). The evening sunset was just as spectacular. Location, location, location! That is why we chose this place and we were not disappointed. The drive to Zion on the highway was a bit longer than we expected (50 minutes?), but the solitude of this property made it worth the drive. Also, we had an SUV (definite must do) which allowed us to take the shortcut (35-40 min.?) on the Smithsonian Butte Scenic Byway to Zion which was one of the highlights we experienced more times than the highway. It was definitely worth it to have a vehicle that could take us on this somewhat rough road because the payoff was big! The Scenic Byway made it all worthwhile; The Highway would have been tedious. We took the time to go the La Verkin Overlook. It is an amazing 360 degree view. I mentioned to a grocery store clerk that we were going there and she said that she was surprised that this was in a guide book because they just take the La Verkin school kids there, but coming from the Pacific Northwest, I thought it was magnificent. Summary: The location was the absolute best, the house was more than comfortable and had everything we needed, and the owners were great to deal with and responded to all of our inquiries. I hope to have another stay at this house.
