Apartment Elizabeth is a very spacious, newly furnished 3 bedroom apartment in a quiet location in Obertraun ideal for families. We have fantastic skiing and boarding on the doorstep at the Krippenstein and the extensive family friendly Dachstein West ski region is just 15 mins drive away. In the Summer, Lake Hallstatt is an easy walk away with its crystal clear waters, beach and play area. This stunningly beautiful part of Austria has much to offer as a holiday destination in both Summer and Winter. The apartment has 2 double bedrooms, one bunk-bed room and a large living room containing 2 comfortable double sofa beds, satellite TV and DVD player. With a newly fitted and fully equipped kitchen and everything in the apartment brand new, you will not be disappointed with the accommodation on offer. Apartment Elizabeth has a garden, garage space and cellar storage ideal for those bikes/skis.

Obertraun is a village situated on the east bank of Lake Hallstatt and is on the north side of the Dachstein mountain range. Obertraun lies within the UNESCO World Heritage area of the Salzkammergut which is famous for the salt mining which has taken place there since before 2000BC. Hallstatt itself is a must see with its historic Baroque style houses clinging to to the steep mountain slopes of the edge of the Hallstatter See. A 5 minute drive from our apartment takes you to the new panorama cable cars which access the Dachstein World of Ice Caves and Hiking World-a network of well laid out hiking paths with breathtaking views. The same cable cars access the Krippenstein ski area with it's 11km run and 30Km of off-piste terrain. At the bathing beach on the lake you will find boats to rent, a children's play area, sun bathing areas and a snack bar. In the town itself you will find a selection of restaurants, a supermarket, bank, taxi, bike rental. bowling, ski hire etc.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A 20% deposit is required on booking. Payment of the balance is required 1 month before your stay. Payment in Euros is preferable but payment in GBP can be arranged at the rate of exchange at the time of booking. Payment can be made by bank transfer either in GBP or Euros. A 200 Euro breakages deposit is required 1 week before your stay which will be reimbursed as soon as the local manager has checked the apartment after your stay.

    INCLUDED IN COSTS-Heating, electricity, all linen and towels and local manager. Washing machine/tumble drier and hairdrier are provided. We do not charge for end cleaning of the apartment as we expect guests to leave the apartment clean and tidy at the end of their stay. We will however withhold 50 Euros from the security deposit if the apartment is left in an unreasonably untidy condition.

    ADDITIONAL COSTS-Local tourist tax is payable with the balance in Euros. Tourist taxes of 1.40 Euros per adult per night and 0.43 Euros per child per night.
  • Apartment Elizabeth is strictly a non smoking property.

    No pets allowed.
  • Arrival and departure.
    Check in 16:00-19:00hrs A local manager will meet you at the apartment house.
    Check out 10:00am. If you need to check in/out at other times, contact us in advance as we can be flexible.

    Shops in Austria are closed on a Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday so we can arrange groceries for you if you arrive at the weekend if needed. Please contact us to arrange this.

  • All 3 bedrooms are very spacious and all have space for a cot of which 2 are available. Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 (bunk-bed room) are adjoining and bedroom 1 has en-suite wet room shower and separate toilet. Bedroom 1 and 2 together with en-suite bathroom make an ideal suite of rooms for a family. The lounge has 2 large comfortable double sofa-beds which together could accomodate 2 adults and 2 children.

Notes: Apartment Elizabeth is on the second floor of a small apartment house with 3 apartments in total. There are 3 small flights of stairs to get to the apartment. The apartment house backs onto pine forest and has it's own shared garden which guests have the use of. Please be aware that during the summer months a mountain stream runs through the grounds of the apartment but is not easily accessible. Apartment Elizabeth offers safe off road parking and a garage space.
