Hello and Welcome to Deer Valley!
I made the decision to own at Black Bear Lodge because of it's beautiful location in the Silver Lake Village area of Deer Valley Resort.
I work in real estate and after having the opportunity to see everything available on the market, I chose the Black Bear Lodge because of it's great value (relative to other properties in the Silver Lake Area), ease of access to lifts, and numerous fine dining options nearby.
The Silver Lake area is styled after a European village and is home to several of the state's best restaurants as well as a few shops, and sporting goods stores.
The Black Bear Lodge is walking distance to Deer Valley's Silver Lake Day Lodge, so if you're willing to walk about 2 minutes to the slopes, you can enjoy all that Silver Lake Village has to offer without paying ski-in/ski-out rates. Deer Valley Resort offers free overnight ski storage (you can even have your skiis waxed each night for about $5) so you don't need to worry about carrying your equipment back and forth during your stay.
Don't visit Deer Valley without trying the brunch at the Stein Eriksen Lodge located directly across the street! I also recommend dining at Deer Valley's Mariposa restaurant, Cena Italian restaurant at the Chateaux, or the Goldener Hirsch restaurant, all within walking distance.
