A different sort of holiday? Not a modern villa on the busy Spanish coast but a beautifully restored house dating from the XIV century in the heart of a medieval hilltop village 50 miles from the Mediterranean. Three bedrooms with bathrooms, two living rooms and a fully-equipped kitchen – all with lovely light and views. The house is cleaned and beds changed midweek or daily if you wish. This is the other Spain: unspoilt mountainous countryside, beautiful rivers, enormous variety of flora and fauna, few people but very friendly. Ideal for walkers. When you arrive you will find all you need for breakfast the next morning in the kitchen

The Matarranya region is full of gems – medieval villages with Gothic castles, hermitages set on hillsides overlooking a patchwork scenery of olives, almonds, vines and pine forests. Here the traditional fiestas, the folk music and dancing and the gastronomy are still preserved. This world is set against the spectacular backdrop of the National park of the Puertos de Beceite, where you will find rivers with waterfalls, eagles, ibex and wild orchids. a natural paradise.
