A comfortable and attractive small family house with a sunny garden in the leafy London suburb of Putney. Has recently undergone a major refurbishment, with a super new kitchen, bathroom, beds and carpets. The house has three bedrooms - one double, one small double and a twin, plus a double sofa-bed in the sitting room. Although it has beds for eight, it would be too crowded with eight adults and would be ideal for a family or 5/6 adults. There is a bathroom with bath and shower, plus a downstairs cloakroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, wine-cooler, washing machine and tumble drier. The separate sitting room has TV, DVD, audio and wireless broadband. There is a pretty, south facing garden, ideal for barbecues and al-fresco dining, plus a free car parking area immediately outside. Not big enough for you? Putney is conveniently located for access to Central London by buses, underground or train. Putney itself is the centre of English rowing, being the location for the world-famous Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race and the Head of the River Race, which take place only one minute away from the house. It has a lively social scene, with dozens of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and price ranges, including several overlooking the River Thames. There is also a cinema. Putney is surrounded by open spaces, including Putney Common, Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park. There is a fine nature reserve at the Wetland Centre, a pleasant short walk along the towpath. It is close to Southfields, for Wimbledon tennis. There is a small park next to the house, with a children's playground and public tennis courts. Good shopping, with an open-air food market every Friday.

We stayed with 6 people in this house for a week, and it was perfect.
No search for parking, shops are really close, and very good access to the city center!
For our kids the equipment with DVD and Wifi was just perfect.

The perfect base

The first thing, we want to say about the house in Putney is already used as a headline in another review, but here it is again: Home away from home. We felt at home from the very first minute, and as others have mentioned, the owner went the extra mile.
The house had everything we needed for a pleasant stay, and was a perfect base for our trips into central London. Five minutes walk to the bus, who terminates at Piccadilly Circus and five minutes by bus to the underground station at Putney Bridge. The nearest grocery store is a little more than five minutes walk away. Leaders Garden, a park less than a minutes walk from the front door, has a wide range of playing opportunities for kids, and some tennis fields.
Putney High Street with cinema, restaurants, mall and a wide range of shopping opportunities is only 10 minutes walk away.
Being joggers, we discovered great routes to run, especially the path north along the banks of the Thames. There are other joggers on the peaceful path from early morning till darkness.
Next time we visit London, we are going to stay at the house in Putney without any doubt.

Very clean and comfortable house with a great location for exploring London using public transport. Quiet pleasant and safe cul-de-sac just next to a park with playground for the children. Owners very welcoming and "went the extra mile" to make sure we had a lovely stay. Ideal for a family holiday. Would definately want to stay there again if we make it back to London.

We stayed at this property for over a week and we were very happy with the state of the house, location and all the things that were arranged for our stay. The house was recently renovated and it shows in the kitchen and the bathrooms. The house comes with all the basic amenities and one can easily plan on cooking basic meals during the stay. The house can comfortably accommodate six people in the three bedrooms and a seventh person can use the sofa bed. The landlord is very thoughtful and had taken care of little things such as a range of breakfast items to help us get started as soon as we landed. The only drawback at the beginning was that internet was not available (due to some mix up with the telephone company) but that was also fixed towards the end of our stay.

Overall, we were extremely happy with our choice and I have no hesitation in recommending this place to large group.
