Casa McGill is located in a beautiful area just north of the resort of Altura in the eastern Algarve. Although in a quiet and peaceful area, it is just a few minutes drive into the nearby towns of Monte Gordo, Altura and Manta Rota. This area is ideal for those of you looking for a relaxing beach holiday. For golfers, Casa Mcgill is near to several, year round, 18-hole golf courses. The villa has a large outdoor pool and generous patio, perfect for soaking up the sun. The kitchen leads out to a second patio area and a large brick barbecue. Here you can grill your own sardines and enjoy a meal outside on a warm summer's evening. The large master bedroom boasts a double bed,walk-through closet, en-suite bathroom and a large, private south-facing terrace. There are also 3 twin bedrooms in the property, 1 with an en-suite bathroom, so plenty of space for the whole family. There is a spacious living/dining area on the ground floor with log fire, DVD player and Sky TV.

The area of Corvinhos and Bernarda is situated just north of the beach resort of Altura in the eastern Algarve. It is a quiet and picturesque area with just a few villas nearby. Just a short drive away are the towns of: Monte Gordo (3 km) which used to be a small fishing village which, over the years, has transformed itself into a colourful, friendly and very Portuguese holiday resort; Vila Real de Santo Antonio (5 km) where you can stroll through the pedestrianised town centre and have a coffee in one of the many different cafes; Castro Marim (7 km) a historic town whose skyline is dominated by its fortress on top of the hill; Cacela Velha (6 km) a quaint and historic town with its 14th century church; Tavira (20 km) a historic town famous for its many churches, its river and the Roman footbridge. Ayamonte in Spain (10 km) is a 15-minute ferry ride from Vila Real de Santo Antonio. Here you can try the local 'tapas' and enjoy the Adalucuan way of life.

  • PLEASE NOTE: 2010 RATES ARE THE SAME AS FOR 2009. DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE FOR UNDER OCCUPANCY. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR A QUOTE.
    Rates include all utility bills. Bed linen and towels provided. Clients must supply their own beach towels. Travel cot available at no extra charge.
    A deposit of 25% of the total rental cost is required to secure the booking. The outstanding balance is to be paid in full by bank transfer 8 weeks before you arrive, or in cash in Euros on day of arrival.
    Methods of payment: cash in Euros. International bank transfer.
    A returnable deposit of £500 or €500 against breakages and damage is payable two weeks before arrival into the same bank account and will be returned to your bank account once the property has been cheacked for damages but within one week after departure.

Golf & Sport: There are several, year round, 18-hole golf courses within a 15-minute drive: Castro Marim, Quinta da Ria, Benamor, Quinta de Cima, the new Jack Nicklaus signature Monte Rei course and Quinta do Vale (designed by Seve Ballesteros). Across the border, in Spain, are several other outstanding golf courses within a 20-minute drive. This villa is approx. 5km from the brand new, Olympic approved sports stadium in Vila Real de Santo Antonio. There is also a new public indoor swimming pool in Vila Real.

Out & About: There are a wide range of excursions available in the area. Some of these include a river cruise, jeep safari, Zoomarine (sea life park), water slide parks and day trips to Seville and Lisbon. These can be booked with our local representative. Bicycle, moped and off-road buggy rentals available in Monte Gordo (high season only).Walk on hiking pathways through nature reserve forest that surrounds Monte Gordo. Explore the hills of eastern Algarve on your own by off-road buggy (high season only). Monte Gordo also has its own Casino where you can try your luck on the roulette or take the safer option and watch the nightly show.

General: Journey time from Faro airport to the villa is approximately 45 minutes by car. It is also possible to fly to Seville and drive over the border. It takes approximately 90 minutes from Seville airport to the villa. On arrival you will be met by our local representative who will hand over the keys and show you around the villa. She will be your contact during you stay should you need any assistance. Airport transfers can be provided. Please enquire for rates.
