Photos and Description of the Banyoles vacation farmhouse rental 7 Bedroom house with large garden in secluded country setting near Banyoles

The 7 bedroom house with 5 bathrooms sits in its own land of about one acre with a large private swimming pool, and is surrounded by cultivated farmland, pine and oak woodland, and meadows, with wonderful views. It is totally private. There is immediate access from the house to marked walking, running and cycling routes. Horse riding, kayaking, golf and lake swimming are also available nearby. The house is fully equipped as our private home abroad; not just another rental house. It can accommodate up to 16 people though is best suited to 10 people or 2/3 sharing families with a high degree of privacy due to its layout of the old house and a new wing. It has two kitchens and sitting rooms, covered terrace with BBQ, satellite TV, DVD player and broadband internet access. The local village has two bar/restaurants which serve fresh, local food at very reasonable prices, and a small shop. The nearest old market town Banyoles is just 10 kms away and Girona 40 kms.

Banyoles is the local town with a twice weekly market around the main square for fresh local produce. Banyoles lake hosted the rowing events of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and this remains a major centre for sporting and recreational activities today. The lake offers kayaking and lake swimming. It's also a lovely place just to walk around with a backdrop of the Pyrenees in the distance. If the coast attracts you the best of the northern Costa Brava is just 45 minutes away with L'Escala, Begur, Pals, Tamariu and Llafranch some of the best places to visit. Can Soler is situated in the district of L'Estany, but is very near to the districts of La Garrotxa, Pirineus and Girones. Cycling is very big in the area, and one known and well marked route passes by the house. There are many footpaths that pass the house too. The weather is generally superb in this region, with clear blue skies and brilliant sunshine, but without the extreme heat of the more central and southern areas.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The Full Weekly Rate shown in the table assumes a group of 10 or more. For smaller groups there is a pro rata reduction for the summer High Season to a minimum of 2,000€. Out of High Season for groups below 10 there is pro rata pricing to a minimum of 400€ a week; so, for example, 6 people in Mid Season would cost 1875 X 60% or 1125€.
  • Payment is preferred by direct transfer in Euros. Payment in GBP is accepted at the Barclays Bank exchange rate current at the time of booking. All bank charges to be paid by Renter.
    Booking deposit 20%. Balance due 8 weeks prior to start of rental period.
    Damage deposit 400€ (or £400) paid with balance and refundable within 10 days of completion of the rental.
    All utility charges included.
    Pool maintenance, cleaner (at end of rental, and weekly linen change are all included. Extra cleaning is available by prior arrangement.
    Visiting catering service is available by prior arrangement, either on an ad-hoc or daily basis.
  • Changeover day is normally Saturday but this can be flexible depending on other bookings. Departure is by 10.00, and arrival is after 15.00. A complimentary Welcome Pack is provided. Other shopping can be done in advance by prior arrangement. Our local neighbour and manager is available to help with any arrangements you may have during your stay.

  • Bedrooms 1-3 are in the new converted stable wing. The children's bedroom shares the bathrooms of the other two rooms and has a WC downstairs. Bedrooms 4-6 are on the first floor of the main farmhouse and share two shower rooms with WC, one of these also has a bath. Bedroom 7 is the attic room in the farmhouse and has its own ensuite shower & WC. All bedrooms have fans for use in summer. All rooms have central heating for winter use. Maximum capacity of 17 depends on relationships of guests as bedding is 7 double beds, 2 single beds, and one child bed. Lots of couples could reach capacity. More normal use is for, say, 3 or 4 couples and some children.

Notes: There is a covered terrace adjacent to the house with a built in BBQ. This is a popular spot for summer time eating al fresco. There are two kitchens. The main large one in the new wing with a large gas fired cooker, and dishwasher, and a smaller one off the terrace with a standard size electric cooker and ceramic hob, and its own dishwasher. Handy for clearing up after dining on the terrace. There are two large dining tables with seating for 20 in total. Normally one is on the terrace and one in the dining room, but for large groups an extension table from the kitchen can be added, or the two main tables can be placed together in the dining room or main hallway. There are two sitting rooms with sofa or armchair seating for 7 in each. Both have fireplaces and TVs, one used for satellite TV and the other for DVD or VCR use. The swimming pool is 10m by 4m and has an adjacent shower. It is unheated and good for swimming between May and September. There are 8 loungers and 2 parasols.
