Girls' Weekend Away Feb 28-Mar 5, 2013

We rented this unit for a Girls' Weekend Away. There were three of us and there was enough room for all of us to not feel crowded.
The bathroom is nice and spacious. There is a separate shower and bathtub. If you are staying for more than a couple of nights, be sure to let the owner know that you need more toilet paper. There were only two rolls stocked and you need to let him know when you need more.
The room was clean and had a very nice view of the ocean.
There was a sign on the door (inside the unit) that said the rooms go for $1000/night. One of the reasons we chose this VRBO was the low price. It is a LOT lower than what you would pay directly to the hotel. I think we definitely got a great discount. The hotel is nice, but not nice enough to pay a full price of $1000/night.
The location of the hotel is good too. It was directly across the street from Alamo/National car rental. It is also walking distance to many restaurants. If you are a fan of Indian food, I would highly recommend Copper Chimney, which is in the strip mall across the street.
Aventura Mall is also close by and definitely worth checking out, if you enjoy shopping. The hotel has a shuttle bus service which goes to Aventura Mall and South Beach (I can't remember the other places it goes). It is free, but is on a limited schedule.
South Beach is about a 25 minute drive, which is fine if you have a rental car, but expensive, if you are taking a taxi.
The hotel also has a spa, which we all enjoyed.
There is a $50/day resort fee (which covers 2 people). This includes beach access, towels and WiFi. I thought this was expensive at first, but later found out it was a good deal. Other hotels charge $10/lounge chair, $10/umbrella, $20/small cabana (each day)…so it was nice not to have to worry about those extra charges.
Parking if you are a regular hotel guest is $35/day (I think). Parking is included with the cost of renting this unit.
The staff at the hotel is very friendly and always ready to assist.
The owner of the unit was always quick to respond whenever we needed something (via texting).
We all had a very nice weekend. I think this unit is a great value and worth staying at, if you are looking at vacationing in Sunny Isles, FL.
