Chalet le Joyau is a luxury 3-bedroom chalet with breathtaking views overlooking the Rhone valley. It is situated in the centre of Nendaz, just 10 minutes from the ski lifts and only 2 hours from Geneva airport. For ease of travel our changeover day is Saturday.
The chalet's accommodation is on two floors, with a separate entrance on each level. It is furnished to the highest standards in an unfussy, contemporary style and is generously equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing stay.
This includes flatscreen TV, Blu ray and DVD player, high quality hifi with MP3 player and fast wifi.
Entering from the front garden, the entrance hall and cloakroom lead into a big open plan sitting/dining room and fully fitted kitchen, with windows and balconies on three sides offering stunning views over the Rhone Valley. Downstairs are the three bedrooms and main bathroom as well as the large technical area - for skis and boots and with its own access to the garden.
The chalet has three private car parking spaces including a garage, all next to the chalet.
Kids / Spas: Nendaz is a great resort for families, with plenty to entertain the kids. In winter there is a children snow park up at Tracouet with a 'moving carpet' lift for tinies, and a tubing and sledging area. The ski schools take kids from the age of 3 and the creche in Nendaz is able to take infants from 18 months. For those with younger children, our concierge service offers a personal babysitting service. In summer there's lots for kids to do around the resort. In the village there is a large adventure playground with trampolines with bungee harnesses. There is also an open air swimming pool.
There are a number of thermal spas within easy driving access of Nendaz, open all year round. The closest are at Saillon, a dramatic medieval fortress town in the valley beneath Nendaz. Also close to Nendaz is the boutique ski and spa resort of Ovronnaz, above Saillon, on the north side of the Rhone Valley.
Nendaz - the all year round resort: Most people head to the Alps in Winter because of the snow. But the people who live here know that the mountains can be equally rewarding throughout the year.
For skiers and boarders the 4 Valleys offers over 400km of marked runs - as well as plenty of unmarked stuff for the experts and mentalists.
And for walking and mountain biking the opportunities are virtually limitless, with the lift network operating in July and August.
if there isn't snow on the ground there's still plenty to do and see in the mountains around Nendaz.
From the top of Mont-Fort down to the bottom of the Rhone valley are countless miles of paths covering the full range of Alpine terrain from high mountain glacier to gentle meadow.
Some of the best walking is along the network of bisses. Built by the farmers of the Valais to bring water down to the dry lower slopes, the irrigation channels date back as early as 1435, and their accompanying paths criss-cross the mountainside, offering outstanding views.
Summer attractions : Nendaz is an ideal location for mountain biking and offers tracks for all levels in a glorious setting. You can use the lift systems to give your mountain bike a chance to really deserve its name. Novices as well as confirmed sportsmen/women can find an itinerary suited to their level. For those looking for a challenge the Tour de Mont Fort is a 48km route which provides the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Nendaz, Verbier and La Tzoumaz ski areas, combining glaciers and alpine meadows in the tour.
For those who want to watch the action, the Grand Raid passes through Nendaz. with its 132km and a variation in altitude of 4600m, the Grand Raid is the longest mountain bike race in the world. With more than 4000 participants, including some of the best cyclists in this field, the race leaves from Verbier and passes though Nendaz en route, attracting many spectators every year who gather along the route.

We are a family based in London with a passion for the mountains and skiing. Ros grew up in Switzerland and has beeb skiing in the Four Vallees ski region since she was a small child. Our son, Jake is now following in his mother's footsteps or ski tracks and like us is developing an early passion for the mountains.
tracks?) In our opinion, having skied in many, many domains across Europe and America, the Four Vallees offers the best skiing we have found, which is why we bought a place here.
Chalet Le Joyau is our second family home. As such we have therefore furnished and styled it for ourselves. Hopefully you will find that it is stylish and comfortable rather than being a bland and characterless rental property.
We bought le Joyau it for ourselves although we rent it so that we can share it with others. It is not a business as such. We are always keen to ensure that people enjoy the chalet and the resort as much as we do.
The chalet has an uninterrupted view from the balcony, looking out across the Rhone valley which covers in the region of 70 miles of mountain range as you look from left to right including such peaks as the Matterhorn. We absolutely promise that you will be stunned by the view.
The chalet is centrally located, easily accessible both on foot and by car and is within a c.5 mins walk from the main ski lift
