What a View!!

This apartment almost has it all. It is ideally situated for people who don't want to hire a car, being within very easy reach of two beaches (one sandy and one shingly), good restaurants and bars. It is also also within easy reach of the centre of Agios (a couple of minutes walk) but is away from the nosier bar areas.
It has every facility within the apartment that you would need, other than a dishwasher, but as it's really only for 2 people this isn't a major problem.
Just about all the furniture and equipment is from IKEA and makes the apartment very modern looking. It has been decorated simply but to a very high standard.
The owner, Joop, was extremely helpful during our stay and gave us good advice on local restaurants, places to visit and arranged car hire for us for the last few days of our stay. He also gave us a lift from the airport when we arrived although this was because he was arriving back in Crete at more or less the same time as us - it's not part of the normal service but indicates just how helpful he was!
If there was one small drawback it was the lack of air conditioning or some sort of air circulation system (a ceiling fan in the bedroom?) which may be a problem in the high season, although the constant breeze on the island allowed us to keep the apartment cool enough to be comfortable.
The view from the apartment is stunning and sitting on the settee in the living area and looking out through the front doors, you could imagine being on board a ship!
All in all, we would highly recommend this property for 2 persons, although it will sleep 4 by converting the settee to a bed.

Owner's Response: Thanks again for writing a review! Now we got one in German (sorry Swiss) and one in English (sorry Welch). This helps a lot for future guests so they know what to expect. Due to these remarks we bought two towers, one for the bedroom and one for the living room which produces cold air. We will see how the Belgian people who are in now react to this improvement. We also had some requests from Dubai about air circulation, so we will inform them about this solution.
Although people who come from Western Europe still consider the Greek food to be cheap, we know that we should divide the restaurants in those that are there especially for tourists and those that are visited mainly by Greek people. These are the places to be! It gives you the feeling learning to know the people and the country and you will also be surprised by the service and sincere friendliness of the Greek. By the way the food is remarkably good and healthy and even if you have to be careful not eating too much there is still a lot of choice within your diet.
We got also very positive feedback about Almira beach which is just outside Agios. From the apartment it is a 10 minutes drive and we heard stories like Caribbean white beaches with spectacular views and very nice trendy bars with young friendly staff. This is the beach where a sweet water river comes into the sea. Local people often go to the so called river beach.
This sweet water river is extremely cold and it meets the warm sea, amazing.
Thanks again and hope to see you soon again!
