Spacious 3 bedroom, Hot Tub, Dock, Canal front, Lift available

This spacious 3 bedroom, 4 bath home sits on a quiet street off the beaten path in Matlacha. We have a wide frontage on one of the deepest and widest canals and also are between 2 empty lots which makes the outside space wide open for more privacy and view. The house has just been refurbished with great attention to every detail to make your visit pleasant and relaxing.

The open concept and split floor plan allows for separation of the two master suites, each with its own attached bathroom. There are lots of large windows for an open, airy feel. All rooms have blinds and ceiling fans. All bedding is new. The king bed has a new memory foam mattress. The twins have new pillow top mattresses. There is a washer and dryer, a laundry sink and bathroom just outside the kitchen door in the garage.

The kitchen is large with new French Door stainless refrigerator with ice and filtered water in the door. There are lots of cabinets, immaculately clean and filled with every small appliance for the gourmet chef. The island is 10 1/2 feet long and provides a huge counter space for cooking, eating or doing projects. There is a wall oven and glass counter top cooking surface. The window at the sink overlooks the water. It is close to both the large dining table or the round breakfast table. French doors lead to the screened lanai also overlooking the water. Patio furniture is provided for lounging or eating outside. There are 3 different outdoor eating areas.

The large yard has grass and tropical landscaping maintained for you. The hot tub, for use in winter months, is a Warm Springs 'Jetsetter'. It is very pleasant to sit on the deck, either in the hot tub or in the Adirondack chairs and watch the fish jumping in the canal, see the osprey building their nest or see eagles and dolphins go by. There are a changing assortment of fish in the canal that you will be able to catch right from your dock.

The covered, wrap around boat dock is large, has electric and water and provides a great space for fishing or launching kayaks from the drop-down ladder and platform as well as accessing a boat from the 10,000 lb boat lift. You can also arrange to be picked up by any of several local guides for fishing at its best in this area.

Matlacha has the 'Island Time' feel of Pine Island but is more conveniently located near all the activities of Cape Coral and Ft Myers, even Sanibel and Ft Myers Beach. It is closer to the airport, shopping, concerts, theater, golf courses, and water park.You are welcome to call me for more information. It's fun to go to all these but when you live in Matlacha the best part is coming home!

About Holly Aldrich

My husband and I retired 4 years ago and came from northern Michigan to visit friends on Pine Island after a winter of heavy snowfall. We loved the sunshine with blue skies, beautiful clouds and water views in every direction.

We were delighted by the quaint village of Matlacha with all the colorful shops, art galleries and restaurants on the main drag and then in seconds we can be off the beaten path on quiet streets where every house is on the waterfront.

Neighbors are friendly and interesting, some from all over the country as well as Canada and England who come to enjoy the wonderful climate of the sub tropics.

You will see osprey nesting close to our deck and bald eagles nearby. Pelicans are attentive to all the fish and dolphins go by in the bay frequently. There are wood peckers, egrets, ibis, herons, cormorants, anhinga and roseate spoonbills in the area.

We can leave our doors open all day, enjoy breezes, very few bugs, walking, bike rides on the flat terrain, friendly neighbors, Aquarobics every morning at the Pine Island Community Pool, boating, fishing, classes at the Matlacha Art Center, craft groups, kayaking or reading a book and taking a nap. There are always more possibilities for activities than we can fit into each day.

The sunshine and pleasant temperatures make us feel we are truly in paradise.

This is a very spacious house with open lots on either side so you can spread out and have privacy and quiet. It has been updated with an open concept and split floor plan with 2 master suites. There are tile floors for easy maintenance, ceiling fans for a breeze and of course air conditioning. The property has 130' of waterfront to be viewed from the house, the lanai, the deck and the 10,000 lb lift and boat dock.

There is a large 2 car garage with beautiful paver driveway and lots of storage throughout the house. A fourth bathroom with shower in the garage is within easy access from the boat dock and hot tub. There is good space in the screened garage for projects, studio or workshop.

This updated and renovated house has 1800 sq ft of living space on one level plus laundry, garage, two screened lanais, one on the front and one on the back, open deck with a Warm Springs hot tub/spa, surround boat dock with 10,000 lb lift, landscaped yard with grass and palm trees maintained for you. The house has a large kitchen with a huge island for cooking, entertaining and eating. (It is also my dream space for cutting fabric and sewing.) There are 3 bikes and 2 kayaks for you to enjoy during your stay.

We stayed for one week and had a wonderful time. This property is so nice and comfortable. It covered all our needs and provided a great location to enjoy the Southwest area of FLorida. Absolutely perfect!

Fishing reading and eating!

This home is perfect for a family getaway. The boat lift was put to good use as we went fishing daily. The patio has a beautiful view and was the perfect place to sneak out in the mornings to read while the kids were still sleeping. The furniture, utensils, cooking items, and grill were all top knotch and made you feel right at home! We particularly were pleased that the mattresses were of wonderful quality and super comfy! The eating area is perfect. We had other family members who had rented homes around us. Our home was where we all gathered for dinners because of all of the seating and nice screen porch off of the kitchen/dining room. The home is just gorgeous and is very clean and well kept. If you are looking for a beautiful vacation check this listing out!

Great Place to Stay

I recently stayed at the Sun and Island Breezes home and it was excellent in all respects. The house was nicely appointed, very comfortable and had everything I needed for a great stay. Quick access to some great fishing areas, good local restaurants, close to a good boat launch were additional bonuses.

In addition, the owner was extremely helpful and great to deal with, as was the property manager.

I will definitely return and in fact have already recommended the place to some friends.

Matlacha Rental

We found this rental to be a wonderful experience. The owners could not have been more helpful answering all questions that we had and are extremely pleasant to deal with. We felt like we have made new friends as they were so concerned that we were comfortable. The property was very clean (which is very important to us) and well taken care of. We loved the many birds that we watched from the lanai expecially the great egret that came by every morning and evening for a little treat. He likes shrimp! The owners have done a great job landscaping the property with lots of tropical foliage and fruit trees even in the front lanai which is a great place for your morning cup of coffee. The town of Matlacha is unique and relaxed. Great fishing, shopping, with several art galleries and an ice cream shop with great flavors ( Oh well we were on vacation). There are several resturants that we enjoyed - The Perfect Cup within walking distance is a great place for breakfast, Woody's on Veterans Pkwy. in Cape Coral, Sandy Hook on Pine Island Rd and Miceli's. We would most definately recommend this home to our friends

Excellent Stay

A getaway for husband and myself, a great home away from home. We were very satisfied with all the a entities, nothing you need to bring but yourself . Holly, the owner, was very personable and arrival and departure went smoothly. We loved sitting in back yard and watch the tarpon swarming the waters. Matlacha is such a great place to lay back and relax, fish, and the art galleries are great also. Our favorite place to eat is Bert's Bar, great food, music, good times! Would definitely rent this home again, have rented others in Matlacha and we were very happy with this home, we will be back!

Matlacha is a quaint village with historic homes and quirky colorful galleries, shops, restaurants, bars and the 'Fishingest Bridge'. Kayaking in calm, island studded, protected waters...., bird watching/ Little Pine Island Bird Sanctuary, World Class Fishing, opportunities to volunteer at the Randell Calusa Research Center, Pine Island Center offers Aquarobics at the Community Pool, Lighted Tennis Courts, Library, Museum of the Islands. Little Pine Island is a bird sanctuary and the bay is full of countless varieties of fish. Every season has a changing variety of birds and fish.

You will see osprey nesting close to our deck and bald eagles nearby. Pelicans are attentive to all the fish in the canal and fish are often jumping. You can see dolphins and manatees go by. There are wood peckers, egrets, ibis, herons, cormorants, anhinga and roseate spoonbills in the area.
