Two families (3 of the adults - lawyers with 5 kids total (ages 5-10)), shared this place. I think the pictures are exactly what you get (no better or worse). I don't know if it was the week we went or what, but we were alone at the pools almost the entire time. The beach club next door - same - alone (seriously). You are as close to the ocean as humanly possible, but be aware, the beach doesn't have any real beach. Its sandy and nice waves and nice to swim in, but there isn't much of a tide, so you sand castle building, etc.. The unit is very open air and really was great for us. The bigger complex, Palmas Del Mar had everything you need. Numerous restaurants, deep sea fishing (most of us got sick, but it was fun going to monkey island), and horse back riding along the beach was fantastic. Humacao was the wrong side of El Junque, so you have to drive all the way around it, but its still only a 45 minute drive. We went to Calebra Island by ferry, which was fun and easy. We went to Luquido (spelling) beach, which was also nice. Be forewarned, everything in PR was inexpensive except meals. The meals were extremely expensive, for some reason. We would definitely go back to this unit/resort and PR. We had a great experience and trip. I did not give this place 5 stars b/c it was a little hassle getting the beach passes and checking in was slightly more complicated than I would have liked (again, not impossible, but not perfect either). The complex consierge and security guards (you go through two separate gates to get in) were extremely nice and very helpful, as was Anna, the property manager.
We just returned from Puerto Rico, two families renting this unit. It can be nerve-wracking renting something online and we hoped it would be as nice as the pictures showed. It was BY FAR better than the pictures. We were literally right on the beach, so you do walk out the door and you are on the sand in less than 5 minutes. This villa is set up so that when sleeping in one room you never hear anyone in the other 3 rooms, so very spacious for our group of 9. There are 2 gorgeous pools to use, and a common grill for the Marbella building to use. There were very few people there, so it was very secluded, quiet and relaxing. I would highly recommend this place. The property manager Annie was so responsible to our every whim. My only recommendation would be for the owners to have a book or "welcome" folder in their unit to highlight the details of Palmas Del Mar, like details on golfing/tennis club use, horseback riding, local grocery stores, restaurant suggestions and details unique to their unit (towels are poolside, preferences on A/C use)
