About Jaki Scarcello/ Rebecca Pollack
I am a transplanted Canadian, born in Ireland and 12 years ago I left the winters in Toronto and moved to the beach. There are days when I just can't believe how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place. My family is still in Toronto so I am often back there, snow or no snow (and I ski) so I decided to share this wonderful beach adventure while I travel elsewhere.
I am an author and I have a home office and an assistant and she will be your concierge. She will work in the garage of the house ( separate entrance) a few days a week and is available for your questions and issues. When she is not at work she is just a phone call away to answer your questions and help you out should you need anything during your stay.
Sharing your home is a big decision but I think this space is too wonderful to keep to ourselves so we invite you to share it and respect it as your own, we know you will love it
Jaki Scarcello/ Rebecca Pollack purchased this house in 1987
Why Jaki Scarcello/ Rebecca Pollack chose Hermosa Beach
Living in Hermosa is like being on vacation all year round. Even when live is stressful, which it can be for everyone, you can always drop it all and go for a walk down to the strand and beach and pier. You can grab a bike and cycle to dinner in the next town over. There is something about the openness of the sea and the sun and the abundant plant life which brings perspective. We are so blessed to live here
What makes this house unique
Our home is lit with California sunshine. A few years ago we replaced all the windows, even expanded some to bring in the wonder of where we live.
When you look through those windows you are treated to the abundance of the California greenery, palms and bamboo and our year round flowers and from some windows on the horizon you can watch the sea.
In the back courtyard of our home, accessible by French doors is our retreat space, a Japanese Koi pond with a waterfall and professional landscaping. You can sit for hours by that pond and watch our Koi swim in the sun. They love to be fed by hand and will beg like puppies if they see you in the swing or hammock chair by the pond.
Our kitchen is our studio…we are foodies and the space is large and functional and contains all the bells and whistles you will need, including an indoor grill to cook up a great meal, while looking out to the sea on the horizon.
