|Minimum Stay||3 - 5 nights|
This prettily upgraded cottage with private pool, new furniture; new comfortable sofa and loveseat; new Serta posturepedic king mattress; nice linens and new bathroom could be just what you are looking for.
Frommer's Guide calls the unique cottages at Pavilions & Pools:'the premier choice for a romantic getaway'. It goes on to say that: 'It's perfect for those who want to run around nude as Adam and Eve; Eve and Eve or Adam and Adam'. With a privacy wall and gate to your villa you do not have to see another person until you leave.
This traditional caribbean style, single story cottage, within the lush tropical grounds, features floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking your own private pool on one side and a narrow swath of original jungle on the other side which extends into the National Park next door. Beyond it lies Pelican Beach and Sapphire Beach which you can stroll to on flat land in five minutes.
Original details like the typical caribbean slatted ceiling add to the traditional caribbean charm.
Modern elements have been added for your comfort. New, tropical hardwood furniture throughout includes a romantic four poster bed with brand new pillow top Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress.. The new comfortable new sofa and love seat in a blue and green filigree seascape design creates a pleasant atmosphere as does local art on the walls.
You will feel as if you are in a simple, traditional caribbean home, undisturbed, with no one above you and no one below you. You can walk with a drink from your kitchen to your reclining chair in a minute without having to bother to dress up or talk to anyone. It's all about privacy, convenience, and comfort. Some modern amenities have been added. The flat screen TV has the full complement of channels available on the island, offering news, movies and sports, so put your feet up and relax. There is a nice quality small stereo that plays CD's and a radio. There is an IPOD doc that plays music from and Apple 4S (sorry, not the 5 which requires that you bring a connector ). Optional internet service us available for a nominal fee.
Enjoy your morning coffee with your feet up, poolside, as you watch humming birds darting around tropical flowers and well as butterflies and our national bird, the yellow breasted bananquit. We are not part of the 'hotel' pool run by a third party company, so you are guaranteed the place that you book. Resident owner provides locals tips to save you money and help you see more beautiful spots off the beaten track.
We make it personal by meeting you and giving you an orientation and are on call throughout your stay if you need help with anything
Beyond the islands of Tortola and St John, that you can see, lies an archipelago of islands that stretch east for 23 miles to Virgin Gorda. There is a famous trip you take that to explore them that leaves from Sapphire Beach Marina, a short walk away .You can also stroll over there to take a day snorkel sail to St John; a romantic sunset dinner sail or a fishing trip.
After a dip in the salt water pool, enjoy a relaxing freshwater shower in your new exotic bathroom. The sunken shower area has been renovated with italian tile threaded through with sea green glass. We have the advantage of a large water heater to allow for long showers if you like them.
Cook at home if you wish or have a barbecue, or head over to Red Hook to eat or have fun at almost 20 bars and restaurants. Ask our gardener, Paul about the exotic tropical plants. Joseph will clean your pool twice a week. If you don't feel like cooking or going out then try our excellent new restaurant, Vicar's Bar and Grill, owned by an ex chef de partie from the Ritz Carlton. He specializes in local cuisine.
We provide everything you need to go to the beach: cooler; nice beach towels and beach chairs. Put them in your car if you have one. We offer transportation options to make your transfer easier. We are on call if you need help and and offer a free concierge service tailored to your preferences.
Turn left out of your garden gate and walk to Sapphire and Pelican Beach on flat land in 5 minutes without having to cross a road.
Turn right out of the front and walk for a little longer to reach Lindquist Beach in the national park. Many think this is the prettiest, unspoiled beach on the island. Here you can sit undisturbed under the shade of a sea grape tree, with only jungle behind you and relax with a refreshing beer or tropical drink.
Try your hand at deep fishing, out of the marina, bring your catch home and BBQ them at home. We are about the only spot on the east end where you can have a BBQ in your garden.
The only hourly ferry shuttle runs from Red Hook to Cruz Bay so that you can go over to St. John for dinner or to listen to music. There is also a drive-on/drive-off ferry (the barge) so that you can drive around the island of St John. There is also the only hourly 'people ferry', on the hour, between the islands, so make it a two island vacation.
You will want to visit St. John at least twice because there are more world class beaches there than you can visit in one day.
This is the perfect location for anyone who does not want to drive. It's $1 to Red Hook on the dollar bus which makes a clockwise circle around the east end of the island so you can ride the bus to the shopping mall and Plaza Extra Supermarket or the Food Center for groceries.
You can easily walk to the beaches. There are no hills and steps here. You are only 5 minutes by bus from Red Hook and the new ferry terminal so you can take trips to St. John and explore the BVI. This is one of the few locations on island near beaches where you can save if you choose not to rent a car.
You are given personal treatment here. The owner actually lives on the island and we can meet you, if you wish, to give you an orientation. We provide a free concierge service to help you see and do more for less. Simply text of call us at any time for our best local's advice.
I have worked in the hospitality field for many years and have been an island resident for 20 years. I have lived in Bluebeard's Castle and worked at Sapphire Beach Resort and the Ritz Carlton. I have traveled extensively throughout the islands and can be your island resource before and during your stay.My promise is that you will never miss anything that would special to you. You will also save time and money along the way. Let me show you around our beautiful islands.........
Chris purchased this cottage in 2012
Because sometimes do not want to navigate the steps and hills of the other resorts. At Pavilions & Pools you can manage without a car and can walk to the beach on flat land. There are no steps here!
Because sometimes you don't want to get dressed up to go our in public or have to talk to anybody……...
It's small, unpretentious and friendly. Get to know us, the garden Paul, who can tell you all about the plants and Tina in her pub Cheers Mate who can cook pretty much anything you would like if it's in stock. Get to know the locals.
Also some people on honeymoons want to be private. The villas here were designed for and are famous for their seclusion.
Pavilions & Pools is the only place I know where barbeques are permitted. At your private villa you can do what you want and be left alone.
At the same time you are as close as can be to Red Hook for its lively night life and the hourly 'people ferry' to St John.
You are also close to the new ferry terminal with its shuttle ferry service to St John and ferries to other islands in the BVI.
PRIVACY and PRIVATE POOL.
UNIQUE LOCATION on the edge of the national park. The jungle is your back yard.
See Hummingbirds, butterflies, deer, and chickens wandering through your garden.
No hills to climb. No steps and a short walk to the beach.
The convenience of being on the bus route and very close to Red Hook allows you to get to several beaches without renting a car. Take the bus or an occasional taxi.
Absolutely beautiful place! The cottage is clean and extremely comfortable. It's all that the photos depict and more. Private pool, patio and grill surrounded by gorgeous flowers and plants. Located close to Red Hook, ferry dock, restaurants and Sapphire beach.
Chris, the owner, is amazing!!! She is helpful, knowledgeable and kind. She is happy to help with anything you may need.
I would highly recommend this rental.
This place was amazing! It had it all:
1. A stones throw from Red Hook, Ferries to St. John and other locations, Safire Beach, restaurants, etc.
2. You have your own pool, patio, and grill. All of which are completely private.
3. Nice flowers and plants around patio and pool.
4. The unit has floor to ceiling windows for half of the walls letting in plenty of light and letting you see the beauty from your bed, living room, and kitchen.
5. Chris, the owner, is very helpful and can help guide you to the best of the island attractions and make your trip more enjoyable.
Arrived and got comfortably very quickly! Chris is awesome! the condo is very clean and very inviting and comfortable, I still don't know why we left! Would recommend for anyone looking for something close to ferry docks, beaches, restaurants, activities, shopping, nightlife, etc. It's right on the bus line so transportation is a breeze. 2 amazing beaches within walking distance and all the privacy one could ever want! We'll be back soon :)
The house was not bad. Chris was nice. The house was not as clean as it should have been. Bathroom offers no privacy. Close to the beach. Coki beach was my favorite. Close to Red Hook but you still need a car.
My wife and I stayed in February with our 7-year-old son, and we were very pleased. He slept on the pull-out in the living room; at this age, he'll sleep anywhere but older children might complain. The freshwater pool was great for him too; he was determined to go swimming but needed some time to get used to the taste of the salt water at the beach. The bathroom has a wonderful and luxurious spacious shower with plenty of room for 2. Thanks to the well-appointed kitchen, I pampered my wife with breakfast in bed every day, and pancakes for the little guy in the other room so she could take time out and enjoy it. The walk to Sapphire beach is only a few minutes and, most importantly, NOT along the road! The place is located along the Safari route so you can save money on a rental car if you like. Parking is apparently limited but during our week-long stay we always had a place to park.
Just returned from a girls getaway and visiting family in STT. This location was great. Just as Chris described. We were able to enjoy our cottage as well as the nearby beaches and other locations. Chris recommended the day trip to BVI...wonderful wonderful recommendation. A nice treat to our vacation. Loved the privacy of the cottage and having our own private pool. There was a day we did not leave the cottage because we had everything we needed. Gorgeous views from the living room area, it's what everyone should see when they first open their eyes in the morning. The sunrise is amazing. The bed is super comfortable and found the kitchen and bathroom to be the perfect size. Highly recommend this rental. BTW, I think a car is necessary. Walking is fine but with warm weather and hot sun not the most pleasant walk plus there are no sidewalks in this particular area. After a day of driving any driver from the states will adjust to STT opposite side driving, highly recommend the two seater car for 2 passengers. It's the perfect size for the island and very comfortable.
You 5 minutes from two of the most beautiful beaches on the island: Sapphire Beach and Lindquist Beach (Smith Beach) in the national park. The ferry shuttle between St. John and St. Thomas is in Red Hook. You are 5 minutes from the Red Hook by the dollar bus or taxi and a 5 minutes walk from the marina that has some of the best boat trips. You can manage without a car because you are on flat land and close to everything.. From the Sapphire Beach Marina to take boat trips around the BVI; a day sail to St. John or go fishing.
