3 bedroom, 2 bath home. Main level bedroom has king size bed, full bath, cable tv, dvd player. Gas logs in living area with TV, dvd player. High speed internet, land line phone with unlimited long distance calls. Dining table seats 8. Stove, Dishwasher, microwave, frig, stackable washer & dryer. Large windows along lakefront gives perfect view of crystal clear Lake Santeetlah. All

kitchen appliances. Upstairs, 2 bedrooms each with queen size beds.Linens and towels furnished. Full bath. Outside, covered porch with outdoor furniture, gas grill, sun deck. Downstairs has full size washer & dryer, ironing board. Bunkbeds, queen size sleeper sofa, over sized chair, tv with dvd player. Table & chairs for overflow dining (great spot for kids to eat) seat 4.

My husband and I raised 6 boys together as a blended family and we spent many summers here in this house. We fished, skied, tubed on this lake and swam. There's a public 'beach' for swimming just a few coves over from our house where we would head occasionally, but mostly the boys just swam off our dock. We had a boat then and they all learned to ski here.

Most of the 100 or so miles of shoreline are located in the national forest and thus afford an unspoiled experience of peace and tranquility. There are no high rise buildings. The lake is so private and it's easy to slip away to a quiet area and just enjoy the wonderful views of the mountains in the national forest. It's just about the most picturesque location in North Carolina.

What makes this house unique

Whether you're grilling the fresh fish you just caught, or sitting on the covered porch eating breakfast, or taking a refreshing dip in the lake, this place is for you. So cool, so green, so comfortable. If you want to bring your boat, you simply tie it up to our dock and it's there waiting on you to take it for a spin. There are multiple places to put it in the water but the Santeetlah Marina is where we generally launched it. Ride The Tail of The Dragon, an 11 mile

stretch of highway that boasts 318 curves.....a favorite of bikers and sports cars. Or drive the Cherohala Skyway which is rapidly becoming the second favorite among motor cyclists. The Cherokee Casino is a 40 minute drive from our house and Maggie

Valley and Gatlinburg are close by too. Joyce Kilmer National Forest is less than 10 miles from our house. There are many hiking trails nearby. Nantahala Outdoor Center is 45 minutes away and of course, white water rafting is a favorite sport.

Take a drive along the Cherohala Skyway into Tennessee, have lunch, then drive back and make a stop at Joyce Kilmer Forest where you can hike among century old trees. Asheville is 2 hours away. Tour the Biltmore House and winery, have lunch on the grounds. Visit artsy Asheville. Ride the train from Dillsboro through the mountains and Bryson City. Western Carolina University is located in Sylva. Take the kids to look at the beautiful campus and inspire them to go to college there.

Nantahala Outdoor Center is a beautiful 45 minute drive from our house. Take the family white water rafting or horseback riding.
