Lakefront Cottage on Lake Santeetlah features 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, combined living, dining & kitchen with lake & mountain views, laundry room, screen porch, open porch, central heat & air & a new private boat dock with ramp was installed in the Fall of 2014.
The cottage underwent extensive remodeling & renovations in 2005 & 2006 with a totally new kitchen, new baths, ceramic tile floors & all new appliances.
On the main level, there's a combined living, dining & kitchen with sliding glass doors that open onto the screen porch overlooking Lake Santeetlah.
The living room has a free standing, wood burning stove to enjoy a cozy fire on a cool night in the mountains.
The Master Bedroom with private Bath has a sliding glass door that opens onto the screen porch as well.
The mountain & lake views are breathtaking from these rooms. You feel like you're right on the water!! Also on the main level is a guest bedroom and full bath with tub / shower.
The third bedroom and bath with shower unit is downstairs and has a separate exterior entry with access to the lower porch overlooking Lake Santeetlah.
We had a great time!! Our families decided to meet half way for vacation this year. One family from Florida & the other from Ohio. Beautiful weather all week. Rented a pontoon boat to fish & tube all over the lake. Only caught a few Bass & 1 Catfish but enjoyed chatting with the old fellas at the bait shop. You have a wonderful house - very comfortable & fully equipped. We really hope to get down again next year. Only Suggestion we can think of - directions on how to work the DVD player. Thanks again for sharing your home!
My husband, our two young baby girls, and family friends really enjoyed the lakefront cottage! The pictures do not do it justice...much more modern looking in person. The pictures of the scenery can't touch the experience of being in such a pristine and beautiful environment. If we could, we would come back for all seasons to just take in the views and calmness. We will be back! Only thing we had for complaints was the dock needs some updating but otherwise... we had no complaints. Make note there is no cell phone service or internet which could be a pro or con. We enjoyed disconnecting so it was great for us! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
My family of four from naples,fl enjoyed this lakefront cottage with a dock. It was fully stocked, clean and lovely. I would like to see them add the use of a kayak or canoe. Not too far to many interesting things to do as well. Very relaxing!
Diana, Thank you for your efficiency and care in making the arrangements. The house was wonderful for us. We enjoyed the porches and the lake access. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and well appointed. We surely look forward to our next visit to Lake Santeetlah!!
Thank you Diana for helping us arrange our vacation at this lovely cottage! This was our 5th visit to NC and by far our favorite spot!! It was wonderful to arrive to such a clean smelling and immaculate home. We commented that we always try to leave rentals "nicer than we found them" but that we had our "work cut out for us!" The place was exactly as listed, no surprises. The lake view was my favorite. The lake is clean and wonderful for kayaking, boating, tubing, skiing and swimming. Coming from busy Florida beaches, this setting was so peaceful and relaxing. We appreciated that the grocery was just a short drive as were a few restaurants. Although we did not use the downstairs (separate entry) bedroom, it would have been perfect for older teen/adult children or mother-in-law. We look forward to our next trip in 2015!
It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This! The beauty of the mountains and lake are enjoyed at this nice & comfortable lakefront home on Lake Santeetlah. Also, of special note, areas of Lake Fontana & the town of Robbinsville were featured in the 1994 filming of the major motion picture 'Nell' starring Jodie Foster, Liam Neeson & Natasha Richardson. A scene in the filming of the movie 'The Fugitive' starring Harrison Ford was filmed at Cheoah Dam on Hwy. 129, near Tail of the Dragon & the Cheoah River.
Lakefront Cottage is just minutes from the Cheoah River & Tail of the Dragon. The Dragon, which is Internationally known among motorcyclists & sports car drivers, boasts 318 curves in 11 miles.
