Located just down the street from one of the nicest beaches on Lake Michigan, this house was recently and renovated and furnished. You'll love the modern kitchen and bathroom. The property has a fire pit and fully screened porch. A few miles north of St. Joe, this is a great choice for a weekend getaway or family vacation, with shopping restaurants, great golf courses and wineries all nearby. You'll enjoy a new, sparkling clean, wonderfully furnished property that's west of M-63 and so close to the water. We would be happy to accommodate you!
I have several vacation properties in the area and also have a major Planned Unit Development that I'm preparing for groundbreaking. I am a licensed realtor in Illinois and spend most of my time in Chicago when I'm not watching the waves in St. Joe!
Craig purchased this house in 2009
This property is new and impeccably clean! It was very tastefully renovated and furnished just two years ago.
We are just a very short walk down Maple Lane to a fabulous neighborhood beach that hardly anyone else knows about. We think it's one of the finest beaches you'll find anywhere on Lake Michigan!
We really enjoyed our stay. It was our very first vacation with our 5 month old! The property was very clean and well kept. The beds were so soft and comfortable. We enjoyed taking advantage of the fire pit at night, and the back porch in the mornings to enjoy our breakfast that we prepared in the well equipped kitchen :) During the week the business next door was operating until 11pm, but closed on the weekend. Our baby is a heavy sleeper, so it wasn't a problem. There was a plentiful supply of hot water for showers!!! It was nice to have a washer and dryer available for use. The beach was amazing. It was at the bottom of a cliff, so there were stairs to take up and down for access. There is a little path off to the left before you get to the stairs that if you take, has a beautiful view of the beach below. We enjoyed the sunset from this view. We would definitely stay at this property again.
What you need to know about this property is that it is next door to a small manufacturing plant. The week my husband and I were there it ran from 7:00 in the morning until 11:30 at night. The noise was intrusive, we never used the back yard/deck area because it was nosiest in the back. It was not the serene Michigan retreat we had imagined!
Otherwise, a clean, comfortable house, a block away from a very nice beach.
I LOVE the cottage!! It was perfect for our girl's weekend. The house was very clean. The screened in front porch was a nice surprise. It was wonderful to sit out and enjoy coffee outside in the morning with no bugs. The house was well furnished with all the supplies we needed. You do need to bring towels, but not a problem as I usually bring my own to places anyway. The beds were comfy and the bedrooms were very large! I never made it down to the beach but I heard it was a short walk from the house. There is a small factory next door but with the fence and trees on the property you hardly notice it was there at all. It is an easy 8 minute drive (I timed it) right into downtown St. Joseph. I can't wait to go back and stay again and I have already recommended this cottage for several people for my sister's wedding this fall.
Charming! This cottage has so many small amenities that make it omfortable, welcoming. Every thing was sparkling clean. The linens were crisp and fresh. The kitchen had all you need to prepare a simple meal ,even a cork screw. Coffee on the screened porch was heaven . The beach? Well the beaach. 90 stairs that were actually rickety railroad ties anchored into the side of a cliff , culminated in the most breathtaking sight of the lake that I have ever seen. The water was crystal clear, the beach pristine.
