Latomia is a tranquil, spiritual setting with unobstructed breathtaking views of the Laconian gulf, the island of Elafonisos and the Mani Peninsula. The traditional stone, red-tile roof house with wooden beam ceilings is set in a gently sloped park-like garden and is within walking distance of a long sandy white beach with crystal-clear blue waters. The house is complete with gourmet kitchen and two terraces, it is perfect for families that love to entertain. Upstairs, the open plan kitchen and dining room is great for food lovers. There is also a large living room that can sleep two people on a fold-out futon complete with TV, DVD player and surround sound system. Downstairs, there are two bedrooms with two en suite bathrooms (toilet, vanity, shower) that accommodate two people in each room with two single beds in one room and one queen size bed in the other.

The beach of Pounta, which is just 650m from the property stretches for 15km ending in the town of Neapoli. It is excellent for swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing and kite boarding. The beautiful island of Elafonisos is just a fifteen minute ferry ride from Viglafia. Elafonisos has one of the finest beaches in Europe and makes a wonderful and extremely easy daytrip. The small village on the island is very cosmopolitan and has a number of fine seafood restaurants The Byzantine stronghold of Monemvasia is just a thirty minute drive from the Peloponnisos vacation rental property. Breathtaking views and historical importance mix with a very cosmopolitan setting filled with shops, artist's galleries and restaurants. The cave of Castania is said to be one of the most colorful and beautiful in all of Europe. From the fabled Byzantine city of Mystras to the ancient Greek city of Mycenae the surrounding area offers numerous possibilities for exploration and adventure.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Tenant agrees to keep the house in as good repair as they found it, normal wear and tear excepted. Tenant agrees to replace anything he/she/others breaks or loses while in possession of the property or shall have the cost of such damage or loss deducted from security deposit of 200 Euro provided the deposit is sufficient to cover such cost. If said deposit is not sufficient, Tenant shall reimburse owner for all necessary costs associated with said repair(s).
  • Should Tenant be unable to occupy the premises for any reason, except the fault of Owner, Owner shall keep any payments as liquidated damages and Tenant will be liable for the remainder of rent due, unless Owner is able to rent the house, for the same period of time covered by this lease, to another tenant. If Owner is able to rent the premises for a period of time covered by this lease to another tenant, all monies received from the second rental will be paid first to Owner to fill the balance of the original lease. The remainder, if any, will be paid to Tenant as reimbursement.
  • The first payment is due upon signing of lease. First payment is 30% of total rent.
    The final payment is due 30 days or sooner before arrival that is total rent minus first payment. As soon as we receive the final payment, we will send the directions and lock box key instructions.
    A separate security deposit in the amount of € 200 is due by check or cash on arrival with Said security deposit will be held during stay and returned to the Tenant on departure less any damage that may occur.

Notes: Latomia is part of an ancient quarry located near the property. Other historical sites nearby include the base of a pyramid, ancient tombs and carriage tracks in stone, trailing into the sea. Windsurfing on Pounta Beach is a significant attraction for many Europeans as is the wetland of Strongyli Limni behind it. The island of Elafonisos is a 10min ferry ride with famous beach of Simos. Excursions are possible to the byzantine fortress of Monemvasia; to Gythion, the ancient harbor of Sparta; to Mystras, the last bastion of medieval Greece and the Paleologos dynasty with its sacred murals, churches and Frank castle. Visit the famous city state of Sparta built in the shadow of Taygetos Mountain. The caves of Diros, considered one of the most beautiful in Europe are a two hour drive though the Mani peninsula and the smaller but equally stunning Caves of Kastania are only 20 kms away with a scenic drive and lovely nearby beach. The hiking footpaths of Maleas offer wonderful day trips.
