Exactly as shown and described. Quiet area, although dogs across the pond can get annoying with their barking. Don't think owners were home during the day. Condo had all the comforts of home and a great view overlooking the pond. Nice place for some R&R. Our owner had gone through two Property Managers from the time of booking until we left. Housekeeper was the third contact. PM was to email or phone us when the housekeeper had changed the code to the condo (no later than 4:00pm) but we did get a text after pulling through the locked gate leading to the complex. We were gettting nervous (it was 6:30) when we hadn't heard from her (after leaving her two messages) . Condo was as we expected, althought the fridge was not working correctly. Can't say if the previous tenants had the same problem, but when we got in touch with the owner she said she would make arrangements for a new fridge, and let us know when it was coming and that we didn't need to be there. Knock came to the door as we were leaving a few days later, with delivery of a new fridge. No arrangements had been made. Fridge did get set up and we had to ask them to switch door swing. No arrangements had been made about getting rid of the old fridge, so called the owner and was quite short with my wife, informing her to tell them to get rid of it. Good thing we happened to be around. Ran into the housekeeper the next day and she told us that delivery people were to make arrangements with her and she was now our new contact person. Nice if the owner had advised us about the change.We had guests over one night and one of the fellows tried to sleep on the pull out couch, but it was not very comfortable! so he rolled it back up and slept on the couch, which was comfortable. Carpeting throughout,even eating area so be careful not to spill.
A couple of days before leaving we did find a cockroach in one of the toilets. It was an isolated incident, and when checking out, we left the housekeeper/property manager a note and our phone number stating what had happened and we never heard a thing from her. Not sure if she told the owner, but never heard anything from her either.
Outdoor furniture (only2 chairs and a small table) could be updated.
On 2nd floor,but stairs easy to climb.
Close to all major attractions and highways, very busy area.
Follow up email to personally ask if everything was ok would be a nice touch.
Better communications would be an asset.
Owner's Response: Bruce and Lynne, firstly I’d like to say that I feel awful that you had some issues while staying in our condo. Our prime concern is providing a positive experience for all of our guests. This is the reason for the turnover in property management. Unfortunately it took us a couple of tries to find someone who was responsible enough to treat our guests as if they were their own.
The individual that was managing the property when you stayed was let go over the fridge incident and the fact that she wasn’t available to open the gates for you. I really do apologize for the inconveniences. As far as the fridge goes, we had made arrangements as I expressed to you, but for some unknown reason Lowe’s messed up on the fridge delivery date. The same goes for the fridge removal. We had prepaid Lowes to remove the fridge but I guess that wasn’t relayed to the delivery people.
With regards to the pull out couch, there is a 4 inch memory foam topper that is stored in the closet to improve comfort. If I had known you were having company, I would have made you aware but your reservation was for two people only and I didn’t realize that you would need to use the pull out.
On your suggestion, we will purchase a few more chairs for the balcony. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. In all honesty, the Muskoka chairs were bought last year, and we went for comfort and relaxation, rather than the ability to seat more guests. They are quite large so maybe we should be aiming for something a little more compact in order to accommodate more chairs in that small area.
Again, I apologize for your bad experience and I appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention.
