Pwllgwaelod beach is in easy reach, a five minute walk down the hill. There is a small car park adjacent to the beach for those who can't face the walk back up! There is a lovely circular walk around Dinas Head and a pub-restaurant on the beach (local lobster). Picturesque Cwm yr Eglwys with its sand and shingle beach overlooked by the remains of 12th century St Brynach’s Church is within walking distance. Back inland there is an atmospheric pub and an excellent shop in Dinas Cross.
Nearby Newport, a bustling small seaside town, is a short drive away – offering golf, two sandy beaches, great for watersports and beach games. There are several exceptional restaurants here, pubs, craft shops and a good butchers.
Fishguard, the site of the Last Invasion of Britain in 1797, is a small market town with a selection of individual shops and award winning butchers/fishmongers.
Further afield Pembrokeshire is littered with pre-historic sites, medieval castles and historic houses.
