Sag Harbor House Rental Photos and Description
Historic waterfront house on one of the Sag Harbor coves. The wide lawns lead from a hammock to a dock with 3 foot draft for boats and swimming. Built for a sea captain, the house has six bedrooms (including a master suite with dressing room), four bathrooms (two with claw foot tubs), two parlors, a dining room, an office, and a family room. Every room has a water view of Sag Harbor or the cove. A large wrap-around porch is a spectacular place to dine, read in one of the rockers, or nap on the porch swing. The eat-in kitchen is renovated and the house has air conditioning. Leave your car at the house and walk to Sag Harbor village for the restaurants, shopping, and theater, or catch the Hampton Jitney to New York City.

About Ann Sutphen
We are the sixth generation to live in this house, and enjoy this wonderful spot. We are four sisters sharing this home with our families. The house was built for a whaling captain and his family, and been passed down from mother to daughter ever since.
Ann Sutphen purchased this house in 1832
Why Ann Sutphen chose Sag Harbor
Our house was built on the cove side of North Haven, the side where the prevailing winds cool it all summer. The porch faces West, so you can watch the sunset on the water, while enjoying the fresh foods of Eastern Long Island. There are numerous seafood stores, farm stands and wineries to help create the perfect dinner.
What makes this house unique
The house is on 2 acres, where one acre has been kept as woods. We have a sweeping lawn complete with hammock. There is a dock with 3' draft for your boat. We offer use of two small sailboats and a kayak. The house is large, so you can spread out into any of the 6 bedrooms (all sport water views). The kitchen and family room are recently renovated, and make an ideal place to cook and chat. There is a large parking area for your car, and walk to town. You can even leave the car and walk to the Hampton Jitney for a day or two in New York City.
