Attractive converted farmhouse with secluded pool in rural setting

I stayed in this house with the whole of my family and our 6 month old baby in July of this year. I would highly recommend this property for families with young children as there is lots of space and it doesn't matter how much noise you make (screaming baby!). The pool is fantastic as it has lots of loungers and umbrellas and plenty of shade for little babies to sleep in. The views are truly stunning all around and sitting by the pool is so peaceful.
Although there are quite steep hills around the house, there is a perfect short 'pram walk' circuit which baby was taken around daily courtesy of granny!
Kitchen is amazing, with everything you could possibly wish for (a microwave would have been a bonus, simply for baby related things).
The house feels just like a home rather than a holiday house - we relaxed straight away, helped along with lots of gin & tonics on the terrace.
Don't hesitate in booking this house, i'm sure you won't be disappointed if you are wanting a quiet, relaxing break.

My family of 7 including my grandson of 6 months had the most wonderful relaxing 2 week holiday at Les Pommiers in late July/early August 2011.

A 12 hour door to door journey brought us to Les Pommiers in the early evening even after a stop at the Cooperative in Buxy to stock up on wine!

The house is very spacious with large roomy bedrooms and lots of space to chill out in sun or shade and get away quietly to read a book.

The views are truly amazing - in every direction! And there ae some lovely walks but quite hilly! A car is needed to get to the nearest shops and bars.

Arriving on a Saturday night it is useful to know that the only supermarket open on Sunday is the Atac in Cluny open till 12 and on Monday the Intermarche.

The swimming pool is a bit on the cold side but we found that early evening is the best time to swim and you can enjoy the sunset over the 'Mary'.

A true feature of the property is the kitchen - complete with Lacanche range! Big enough for everyone to gather and eat and a plus for us as my future son in law is a chef and loved having 5 gas rings and an electric oven! Tthe rest of us sat on the terrace outside enjoying the sun, a glass of wine and chopping!

Hence we did not eat out very much and found it a bit disappointing. the St Laurent in Macon was not what is used to be. A cafe in Cluny where the road narrows and the bollards are offered an excellent plat du jour! And said chef and daughter went to Monceau les Mines to a 1 Michelin star restaurant which they said was excellent and very good value!

The house was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Lots of outside chairs and tables, umbrellas and sun loungers and a travel cot was provided free of charge.

We would all highly recommend Les Pommiers for a quiet family holiday and would go again.
