Quiet beach with no traffic just by the entrance. Sunny and rustic gardened surroundings. 5 rooms Villa with 2 bathrooms, 3 of them double beds and the rest single beds; refurbished kitchen full equipped; dining room with a chimney and a living room besides with tv.

All inspired to have comfortable, welcoming and lighting environment.

7 Rooms, of which 5 Bedrooms, Independent kitchen, Living room, Dining room, 2 bathrooms, Terrace. Surface area : 300 m2 / 3227 sqft, Garden : 1500 sqm / 16140 sqft.

Year of construction : 1960, Date of last renovation : 2007.

Official tourist accommodation, HUTTE-001193, registered in the Generalitat of Catalunya Tourism Chamber, and therefore complies with all requirements and obligations.

Waterfront environment with stunning sea views: The Villa Scilla entrance is linked to a beach cliff shoulder with 30 seconds walk distance to the shore.

The Villa is placed in a spot with a stunning sea and Ampolla's fangar bay views. Easy to be delighted meanwhile you are having the breakfast, lunch or dinner in front of the BBQ's table, cooking the BBQ's, reading or getting tanned in the garden couch or having a look from the living room window, dinner room window, first floor 3 windows king size bed or the first floor terrace.

The Ebro Delta Natural Park: The Villa Scilla faces the Ebro Delta Natural Park with a total surface area of 7,802 ha. It has some 95 breeding species of birds, is also very important for a wide range of overwintering species, and serves as an essential stopover point for large numbers of migratory birds. The Ebro delta has the world's largest colony of Audouin's Gulls. In 2006 it held a record number of more than 15,000 pairs.

Fantastic Family Holiday

We stayed at Villa Scilla from 18th to 27th September 2012, 4 adults and 1 child (aged 2), the first thing you notice about the villa is that it was spotlessly clean, had 5 large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a great roof terrace is literally across the road from the sea. The family who own the villa are very friendly and helpful and will help you with anything you need. You have internet available, fresh towels and everything if you want to cook or have a night in.

A big bonus is that you can hear the waves crashing on the shore when you are sat out at night having a BBQ or relaxing in your room.

It is a short walk to the sandy beach, around 5-10 minutes, walk along the sea front and take in the sun, the beach is safe and the perfect size for children and not crowded. The town has some wonderful restaurants where you can enjoy some great quality sea food and wine. It is not a very English resort and we loved that, you really experience a Spanish holiday.

There is plenty to see and do to keep you occupied. The large nature reserve, lots of tourist attractions and the local shops are ok for all your essentials. Make sure you visit the tourist information on your first day to help with the planning.

Not many downsides really, there is no pool at the villa, but we preferred this with small children and the beach is close enough to make a day of it. You will also need a car, but there is a main train station in the town and traveling from Barcelona is an option.

Overall a fantastic stay and if we ever plan to revisit L'Ampolla, Villa Scilla will be top of our list.

Family holiday with perfect memories

We spent two weeks at Villa Scilla in June in 2012 and found the accommodation to be excellent. It was professionally cleaned and every amenity was available. We found the welcome from the owners to be warm, friendly and informative in relation to 'things to do' in the area. The villa was spacious, light, airy and modern. The only downside was that it did not have a swimming pool but the local beach which was 2 minutes walk compensated for this with it's lovely clean beaches.

The location of the villa was perfect and we did not have far to walk into L'ampolla that included it's fishing port and cafes/bars overlooking this delightful sight. We did not have far to drive to other sea-side resorts such as the working town of L'amella de mar that is slightly bigger than L'ampolla and had more shops offering local and tourist facilities. Access to the beautiful mountain range with it's wondeful dramatic scenary was on the doorstep also. We also discovered the Delta Ebro which was a nature reserve and offered many facilities such as bike rides, interesting walks and hire of boats for fishing or leisurely excursions.

I would definately recommend this villa and it is very much part of our fond memories of the sunny 2012 holiday!!!!

For seafood lovers

There are few places in Spain where we got such a variety of seafood - including oysters ! - as in l'Ampolla during our pleasant stay at Villa Scilla. Barbeque area was a center of outdoor life, with astonishing view and quite chilly position. Yard is rather too big and empty, but our kids could use owners playground ( close to the villa there is owners house ). And a private beach is a real surprise ! It is quite impossible to find property closer to the see and in such a quite place. Stairs up to the second floor are rather not suitable for 2-years old and very quick child, but for kids in their investigating ages this house is a pearl.

The Villa is right in front of the lighthouse placed on the other side on the tip of the bay.

All the features of the Delta have played a role in creating the character of this town: the sea, the bay, the water, the land, the dunes, etc. It is a mixture of Mediterranean essences, alternating between flat alluvial land and craggy coast; between mud and rocks; olive trees and rice fields; between marl rocky banks and lagoons...

The sea, the land and the river create landscapes so diverse that the Mediterranean pears enviously over the Bay of Fangar, contemplating the visions that each new day brings. Just like the bay, the edges between one feature and another blend together.... in fact, who can really say where the sea, the river or the land, or even you and I, begin or end? L'Ampolla, gateway to the Delta, Amphora.
