We stayed in this lovely large home for a long weekend family reunion. Ages ranged from 6 months to 85 years. The house surpassed our expectations, sitting on a ridge overlooking the Ritz Carlton golf course and the Pacific Ocean. It is a perfect place for a family reunion. We enjoyed every aspect --- sunrise walk along the ocean, eating breakfast on the patio with the golfers teeing off, sitting by the fire pit watching the sunset. It is an ideal place for quality family time. We took a long hike one afternoon at Grey Whale Cove. It is so easy to get to great activities from the house. The town of Half Moon Bay is minutes away so it is easy to stock up on supplies. There are several nice restaurants as well for meals out. The house is beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is large, very well appointed and opens to a breakfast nook and living room with fantastic ocean views. The owner was a joy to work with. I would recommend this home to anyone. It is very accessible with a first floor bedroom, two steps up to the front door and a back patio level with the first floor. We hope to return for a longer stay in the near future.
What an amazing experience. We were at Half Moon Bay for a wedding and this was the perfect venue to unwind, prepare and spend time with family.
Not just a comfortable house, but beautifully designed with a spectacular ocean view. WOW. I'm so happy I found this spot. Especially the jacuzzi bath in the master bedroom, what a treat!
I spent 3 nights here with my family and friends for My BIG Birthday weekend filled with bounds of laughter and joy. As soon as you enter the house thru the front doors the views immediately took my breath away (windows abound)...instantly you sense warmth and serenity...how nice that is when it's not even your home...but the point being is you automatically feel like it is...how nice is that! We enjoyed the house immensely with plenty of room for all and we used every single room for one reason or another. The furnishings were very well appointed and plenty of room for all. The kitchen and butler's pantry is very well stocked with everything you could imagine paper towels, napkins, waffle irons, coffee maker, plenty of beautiful serving dishes), including very nice chargers for elegant dining. The bathrooms were stocked with the standard essentials and even some things that were still new I imagine may have been left over by previous guests, ie; soap, shampoo, conditioner, shaving instruments, hair spray, etc... The Master Suite is incredibly large and the views have the presence in Enormous stature. My family and I will definitely be a repeat customer as WE LOVED IT!!
Last and not least Lisa the Property Manager is VERY helpful, kind, and extremely understanding and responsive...and a complete professional...thank you Lisa!!
The house is exceptionally beautiful with tasteful decoration, fast internet, quality kitchen and laundry supplies and wonderful books. Everyone earnestly enjoyed the house and surrounding environment. We wish we could stay longer and explore Half Moon Bay coastal line more. The only thing the owner could improve is to let guest to use one or two bikes. Secondly cleaning fee is bit high.
4 couples from Florida joined together to visit the San Francisco Bay Area for 10 glorious days. Very important to us was to find a home base where we could travel easily to various spots in the Bay Area and south of the Bay Area. Half Moon Bay was ideally located. It was also important that we find a residence that felt roomy and provided spacious bedrooms and private baths for each couple along with room to spread out when we returned from our daily trips. This home was perfect. The views were great, the living area spacious, the bedrooms well suited with everything neat and clean and in like new condition. It was a real treat to take breakfast in the kitchen nook in the morning and see the ocean waves. It was equally wonderful to join together on some evenings for dinner in the large dining room where we could relive the day's adventures. And for a nightcap we sat around the firepit drinking wine and sharing more stories than we probably should. Some of the group took walks down to the beach while others played the golf course that circled the community. 30 minutes from SFO, 45 minutes from San Francisco, and less than 2 hours from Sonoma and Napa made this a great place. Lots of great places to eat in Half Moon Bay too along with access to Fishing charters which several indulged in. All in all it could not have been a better place to stay as a home and area. Lastly Lisa was 5 stars herself. She was very helpful from start to finish and very timely with all her responses to our questions.
We had a fabulous stay at this home near the Ritz Carlton HMB. The house is spotless and tastefully decorated and features wonderful 180 degree ocean and golf course views. We have a large family and it was perfectly laid out for a big group. We are spoiled travelers in general and stay at many high end places (both homes and hotels) and we felt like this was tremendous value for the money. If you have a big group and you want to come to HMB, this is the place to stay.
Ocean Colony offers two championship golf courses - the 'Old Course' and the 'Ocean Course' - both with breathtaking views of the California coastline.
The Old Course, formerly known as the Links Course, was originally designed by Francis Duane and Arnold Palmer in 1973 and redesigned by Arthur Hills in 2000. At 7090 yards with several challenging doglegs, don't let the rolling serenity fool you.
The Ocean Course was specifically designed to rival Scotland's best. Open, beautifully manicured greens with breezy ocean views make it an experience you'll keep coming back to.
Half Moon Bay State Beach
The broad sand beach and crystal blue waters of this natural Half Moon Bay attraction spread for four miles and encompass three distinct beaches, Francis Beach, Venice Beach and Dunes Beach. The water is cold year round, even when the sun is strong, but the scenery at Half Moon Bay State Beach is nothing short of stunning. Sunbathing, picnicking and fishing are some of the most popular activities at Half Moon Bay State Beach. The nearby Beach Trail stretches for ten miles and is a popular vein for Half Moon Bay hiking and biking.
