This traditional farmhouse with original features: beams and oak floor board, is situated in a small hamlet amongst the fields and close to a river. It is very spacious and offers an ideal opportunity to spend some time with your family and friends. Its front yard and 2 gardens are great for enjoying meals outside, for treating yourselves to an 'apéritif' when the sun declines, for letting the children play safely and to admire the beautiful view on the countryside. Composition of the house: Ground floor: seating room, dining room/ opened kitchen well equipped, fireplace, WC. First floor: 3 bedrooms facing south and a bathroom with a bath tub and WC 2nd floor: 1 large bedroom, 1 small room with a wash basin. Large enclosed garden with lot of fruit trees, palm trees, garden chairs and table, swing, den for the children and a south facing terraces.

The farmhouse is situated 2,5 km from Saint Sauveur le Vicomte, a pretty village with a castle and the museum of Barbey d'Aurévilly. You can find all the local facilities and a market on saturday mornings. On the river DOUVE which is passing through the village, you can practise kayaking and fishing. There is a modern swimming pool which is opened to the public. This area is ideal for nature and walk lovers: footpath, 'les voies vertes' which are the old converted railway lines, forest with an arboretum. In the summer it is possible to do promenades in a chart pulled by horses. Only 15 mn drive away, complete change of scenery: dunes, ocean, beaches, waves, and all the nautical activities linked to the sea and wind. It is a great base to discover the region and its treasures: the Landing Beaches (20 mn ) and WW2 sites, La Tapisserie de Bayeux (45 mn), Le Mont Saint Michel (1h30).

We had a lovely 2 weeks in the Farm House. It is well equiped with everything you would need, nicely decorated in character with the property and surroundings, and feels very homely. The garden and front courtyard area with gates are spacious and safe for children.
The garden is especially good for kids with swings and a den which is well equiped with garden toys etc, plus it doubles up as a covered sandpit.
There are also toys in one of the childrens bedrooms, so plenty to keep kiddies amused.
The location is excellent, very rural with fields of cows and sheep around. It is very central to most places with plenty to do within 30mins drive in most directions, beach, museums, shops, zoo etc.
Plenty of historical interest in the area too, such as the WW2 D Day landing beaches and museums.
Shops within a few minutes drive in the local town.

This holiday farmhouse was excellent. It was in an ideal location. Everything we wanted to visit was within easy distances, i.e. 30/40 mins to 1 hour. The local beaches (30 mins away) were ideal for children and huge amounts of sand to make sandcastles etc and very clean.
Supermarkets many and within easy distances.

As for the farmhouse. Beautifully decorated, clean spacious and well equipped. Lots of light in the rooms and plenty for children to do in the gardens. The lane outside the house is safe for bike riding as well.

We would highly recommend this property to anyone, especially large families with young children. Ours were aged 12, 8,7 and 18 months old and there was plenty for them to do. The sandpit was great!!

LOVELY HOLIDAY IN a CHARMING REGION

My family and myself enjoyed our holidays in this part of Normandy which is varied in interests: cultural, historical, touristic. We loved being on a peninsula as the sea is always close by.
The house is spacious and the garden and countryside great for children.The weather was great and our holidays to short!
