The chalet offers an unforgettable holiday for small or big groups. Ideal for families, group of friends or any other get-together.

Skiing:

The very popular ski resort 'Martinske Hole' (1456 metres above the sea level) is just 10 mins drive - to the entry of it but then you have to drive up the mountains - about 15-20 mins. Or fit people can get there on their cross country skiis - from our Chalets.

Other ski resorts, all about 30 mins drive, I would call family resorts, have an easy access, big car park, restaurants, one of them with the creche for small children.

'Snowland', 'Jasenska Dolina' and 'Vratna Dolina'.

There is also a field/slope - right behind the Chalets that you can use for fun - sledging, snow fights, building snowmen, etc.ts.

All of the ski resorts have ski hiring services and ski schools.

Spas:

After a good day of skiing you can go and relax in one of the many spas with thermal water in the area. You get a discount with the ski pass.The water is hot, so you can swim outside whole year round and the spa offer various massages(including hot stone massage, honey & chocolate massage, mud wrap) and treatments. Or you can go and relax in the salt cave.

Husky rides, horse rides, water rafting

Other adventures include husky rides, horse rides - I can arrange for them to come to the Chalets - subject to snow conditions. Otherwise they can meet people on the ski slopes. They also do an adventure when the horse pulls people by the rope on their skis. Water rafting available in river 'Vah'.

Other activities include visiting beautiful Slovakian castles, Zoo, and shopping of course.

Hiking and cycling paths near our chalets.

There are great restaurants in the area, or we can arrange your meals for you and serve them in our bar. 24 hours huge Tesco is only 10 min drive.

PRIVATE WELLNESS CENTRE:

Newly built, heated indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and fitness centre, massages all in the same complex, available for a small fee.

Details for Chalet Skalka 9 Bedrooms, Sleeps 26, 6 Bathrooms

Three identical chalets with 3 large double bedrooms and 2 spacious bathrooms each accommodating up to 24 people. There is under floor heating throughout the chalet. The downstairs bathrooms have a shower while the upstairs bathrooms have a bath tub perfect to relax in after a long day on the slopes. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, electric hob, ceramic sink and dishwasher. The living room includes sofas, Freeview TV and DVD player. The Dining area has a table and chairs and enjoys the natural light from the French doors opening out onto the the beautiful terrace with an outside yet sheltered log fire which is ideal for all year round use. There is a karaoke bar available for hire exclusively to our cottage guests, ideal for get together, small weddings or birthday. Recently built private wellness centre with indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, saunas and fitness.

Hello,

we are a family of 4, with two young girls. We built this resort in 2008. We live in London but as we grew up in Slovakia we love to spend our holidays there with the family.

What makes this chalet unique

We love this place as it offers great views, quietness and many activities nearby to keep the children busy.

We have recently upgraded the resort with the indoor wellness and already spent hours splashing in the pool and jacuzzi. The great thing about this wellness is that there would only be one group there at the time, so no strangers!

The Chalet is situated at the end of town, on the edge of the beautiful forest. No traffic passes through, yet the town centre is 20 min walk and the shopping centre is 5 min drive. Kids (some adults) can enjoy sledging, horse-riding or snow fights on the field and hill behind the Chalets. There are 3 popular ski resorts. One within 5 km and further 2 within 25 km. Some offer crèche and all of them have ski hire and ski schools. For those who also like to relax there is a thermal spa just 30 min drive with thermal pools outside and inside in whole year round. We can also book you a massage or mud, chocolate or honey wrap. Other activities include husky, ice skating or visiting one of many beautiful Slovakian castles.

Wonderful Christmas Break

Deciding to have a change from the usual Christmas we booked these chalets. We'd never been to slovakia, they seemed to fit the bill and the prices were bang on the budget. All in all they delivered on the mark.

The chalet is clean and spacious. There is a charming little wellness centre with swimmingpool. jacuzzi, sauna and gym attached for when you want to pretned to excerise after way too much Christmas cheer. Shops are nearby including a large 24/7 Tesco!

The only comments I would make are that speaking slovak would be really handy otherwise you have to spend a lot of time waving your hands as we did. Plus without a car you are completely stranded as it is hardly in the middle of down town Bratislava. But then that is why we picked it.

Highly recommend this as a relaxing break in the middle of the countryside that is a little different from sitting in a traffic jam on your way to Dorset.

Winter holidays 2012

In one of the three chalets we spent one week of our winter holidays. We were 5 people. Everything was great. Especially enjoyed the Spa complex, where every evening we were able to relax after skiing. We visited all three nearby ski centers. Most liked Martinske Hole, but it was a little difficult to reach it - it appears to be 10 kilometers by car to ascend the mountain, which necessarily requires the chain on the wheel.
Owner's Response: Thank you Rima. You were the star guests! You are right about the snow chains, they do require them at times. We do have few available for hire. Alternatively, there is a transport service which would pick you up and drive you there, but it is not free I am afraid : )

Very nice holiday

I strongly recommend the cottage where I spent a week in winter. The equipment, furnishings and conditions are excellent. The location is very convenient for skiing on Martinske Hole.
Z przyjmno?ci? rekomenduj? chat?, gdzie sp?dzi?em tydzie? w zimie. Wyposa?enie, umeblowanie i ogólny wystrój chaty jest na bardzo dobrym poziomie. Lokalizacja jest bardzo dogodna dla uprawiania narciarstwa na stacji Martinske Hole.

Great Holiday

In August 2011 we spent a week in this well equipped holiday resort and were quite impressed with the beautiful mountains we were surrounded by.
We did lots of mountain cycling in the area and enjoyed the hiking in "Janosik's Holes".
Kids were very happy, did not want to leave. What more can I say...

A wonderful holiday with plenty to see and do

We stayed at Martin in August 2010 and rented all 3 chalets. We spent our holiday as a large group of 24 people in total as a mixture of adults and children. The accomodation more than exceeded our expectations and was to a very high standard and very spacious to accomodate 24 people.
The views from the chalets were lovely with lots of trees and beautiful views and set in a tranquil setting.
There was lots to activities to suit all ages, the whole family enjoyed relaxing at the local spa (only a 15 minute drive away and very reasonable prices for admission to the spa and the spa treatments), and the owners also recommended fantastic places to visit such as the traditional salt caves, a beautiful castle, a zoo and visiting the picturesque Tatra mountains.
The owners were great hosts and very welcoming to answer any questions. All together a very lovely place to stay and we'll definately be returning for another large group holiday.
