Three doors open on to the deck which boasts a unique sun shade,a 300 gallon hot tub, and a full dining area as well as assorted chairs sofas and chaise lounges.The second floor has the Master Bedroom with a ceiling fan and full bath ensuite.It is connected to the rest of the secound floor by a balcony which overlooks the main downstairs area. The rest of the second floor is comprised of a smaller bedroom with a double bed separated from a larger bedroom with two single beds by a full bath with a stall shower. Each of these rooms are equipped with ceiling fans as well as wirelessly operated blackout shades in the new skylights allowing those who choose to sleep later.In addition ,there is a small post and beam elevated playhouse on the property.
Monterey has some charm of its own! A short walk (1/2 mile) down the hill is the restricted Village beach area with a lifeguard on duty.Further down from the beach is the Town Center with a General Store, Post Office ,and Meeting Hall. At the cul de sac at the other end of Art School Road is the Bidwell House Museum-an elegant Georgian saltbox built circa1750 as a parsonage. It is a New England heritage landmark.
A 10 minute drive to the west on Route 23 brings you in the Great Barrington.It finished #1 in 'The 20 Best Small Towns in America' in the May 2012 issue of the Smithsonian Magazine
