THATCH COTTAGE & ALICE’S LOFT: Stretton-on-Fosse, near Moreton-in-Marsh. THATCH COTTAGE: a high quality restored, C16th Cotswold stone cottage, with open fires, exposed beams and oak doors. It is situated in a conservation area in an elevated spot with relaxing views over the church/village. Short stroll away from a children’s play area and The Plough Inn (Warwickshire Pub of the Year 2008) which serves home-cooked food. Moreton, Stratford, Stow, Broadway and Chipping Camden are all within a 20 minute drive. THATCH COTTAGE ACCOMODATION: Ground Floor: Fully equipped kitchen, utility and WC.Dining room and lounge(open fires). Staircase leading to upstairs landing: spacious master bedroom with double bed, galleried ceiling and views over the garden. Second bedroom with 6’ zip/link beds (can convert to twin beds). Bathroom with bath/shower. ALICE'S LOFT ACCOMODATION:Alice’s loft is an adjacent unit built with reclaimed stone. 6’ zip/ link beds (can convert to twin beds). Shower room.

Additional information about rental rates

  • 1. The above rates are for both Thatch Cottage (sleeps 4) and Alice's Loft (sleeps 2). Thatch Cottage may be rented on its own at £150 less per week (Alice's Loft will be locked) except during Summer Season and Christmas Season.
    2. The above rates are subject to a £200 per week supplement and a minimum of 7 nights' stay during the following dates: Easter (10-17 April 2009), May Half Term (22-29 May 2009), August Bank Holiday (28 August-4 Sept 2009) and October Half Term (23-30 October 2009)
    3. The above rates include oil, electricity and logs.
    4. Welcome Hamper can be arranged at additional cost.
    5. Sorry no pets, fireworks, smoking or BBQs at either property due to the thatch.

    6. Owners will consider suggestions for holiday home swap with other properties of a high standard. (overseas and UK)

    7. A non refundable deposit of 35% is required to secure booking. Balance is payable 6 weeks before stay.

    8. No stag or hen parties.

    9. All damage must be reported and paid for.

(and two open fires) HEATING (ALICE'S LOFT): Electric panel heating in Alice's loft (works on timers like central heating) with electric real flame effect 'woodburner'. NOTES FOR ELDERLY AND INFIRM: Thatch Cottage and Alice's loft both have upstairs and downstairs toilets. The Cottage is easily accessible from the drive and the entrance to Alice's loft is a few feet away. There are no large steps into either property but there are stairs with bannisters to the bedrooms. The cottage has a wider staircase than Alice's loft and the upstairs bathroom is larger. Garden is mainly flat and is easily accessible.

An idyllic cottage....

My partner and I spent a romantic weekend at Thatch Cottage and had the most wonderful time. The cottage, was clean, well maintained, had all modern amenitites (including a DVD player with DVD's) and was beautifully furnished in keeping with the cottage itself. It was exactly (if not better) than described in the property details. There was a lovely log fire in the lounge, perfect for relaxing on a cold autumnal night. The local pub is well worth a visit for lovely home cooked food and a friendly ambiance. All in all a perfect place to getaway if you want to de-stress and explore the Cotswolds.
