Lynhurst is an elegant Victorian country house with great character arranged on 4 floors. Lynton and Lynmouth water powered railway takes passengers up and down the cliffs with the most amazing views of the sea and Exmoor. Every aspect of a holiday is catered for whether it be a stag or hen party, family gathering or any type of celebration. Children will be entrhalled by Watermouth Castle or The Big Sheep in addition to Exmoor Zoo. Locally there are championship and links golf courses within 30 minutes drive and if you are a good surfer Lynmouth offers excellent waves and 30 minutes away are the beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton. Horse riding stables are prolific because of the vastness of Exmoor, The Doone Valley and woodlands. Walkers are well catered for with the South West Coast Path virtually on the doorstep of The Lynhurst.
Excellent cafes, pubs and restaurants are a short walk away or if you wish to travel by car the choice is endless.
Visit The Valley of the Rocks with its ferrel goat herd and amazing rock structures like The White Lady and Mother Meldrum's cave.
Walk to Watersmeet, in the National Park where the two rivers meet and create lovely waterfalls or visit Tarr Steps further afield on Exmoor.
There are National Trust properties such as Arlington Court within a 30 minute drive.
Visit the Exmoor Pony sanctuary and visit the native breed.
Explore the area by electric bicycle or take an Adventure Tour in a four wheel drive vehicle.
We just wanted to thank you again for the use of your beautiful house for our wedding weekend in June. It provided the most amazing setting for our celebrations, our guests couldn't get over the views and how well kept everything was! We will definitely recommend you to anybody who is looking to do something similar, and you never know, we may well see you again for a future celebration of our own one day.
Set in the heart of Exmoor National Park alongside the South West Coastal Path. The famous Cliff Railway, the Valley of the Rocks home to the feral roaming goats, Exmoor ponies and Red Deer and the beautiful waterfalls of Watersmeet. This is Johnny Kingdom country. There is a secluded sandy beach at Lynmouth for swimming and surfing. Lynton has its own cinema. Explore the North Devon Atlantic coastline and Blue Flag beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands which are half an hour by car. There are the Tarr Steps, Lorna Doone Valley and the seaside town of Minehead with its steam railway and locally there are traditional based country pursuits such as golf, fishing, tennis, riding, walking, cycling and Woody Bay station with its steam train. Further afield is Lundy Island and Ilfracombe. Local amenities include many restaurants and public houses, post office and shops.
