We have just had our beautiful home in Punta del Este fully reformed to the highest standard and we hope you will enjoy staying there as much as we do. The air conditioned accommodation is all on one level, well laid out and spacious making it a wonderfully comfortable place to stay and all the fittings, furniture and linen is equally new. The house faces a quiet street with beautiful gardens opposite and is conveniently close to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Out back we have a beautiful, mature, garden, large swimming pool, parilla (that's a BBQ to you and me) and covered terrace as well as car parking. It's a great place to sit and enjoy the peace, the humming birds and the parrots! 60 odd cable tv channels and broadband internet are connected.

Punta del Este is the most glamorous holiday destination in South America, often compared with Nice or Miami. In reality it is like nowhere else! Magnificent white sandy beaches, fabulous restaurants, great food and drink and sensible shops as well as the usual designer boutiques. For all the glamour and style, the cost of eating out is low by European standards whilst crime and congestion are virtually unknown. Punta attracts the rich and famous from Europe and the USA who want a discreet, 'normal' holiday without going to the boonies or locking themselves away behind high walls. The Conrad Hotel and Casino has 2 showrooms where Tom Jones, Julio Iglesias, Liza Minelli & Ricky Martin have performed whilst Bob Dylan recently preformed in the car park! We are 5 minutes walk from Punta shopping (excellent supermarket, wide choice of shops, restaurants, bowling and multi screen cinema with English language films), 500 metres from the beach and 2 minutes from a good restaurant!

The second, 'family' bathroom has a jacuzzi bath as well as an adjustable, high pressure shower, wc, wash hand basin and lots of storage space as well as under floor heating and heated towel rails. There is a separate toilet with wash hand basin in the hallway whilst the service room which is accessed from the garden also has a shower and wc. Everything is brand new as the refurbishment of the house has only just been finished.

  • The master bedroom comes with a king sized bed, cabinets, built in wardrobes, safe and air conditioning/heating. At the rear of the house, there are sliding doors opening onto our beautiful garden. The second bedroom is also a double with a king sized bed, built in wardrobes and air conditioning/heating. It is at the front of the house overlooking the very quiet street and the superb gardens opposite. Watch the parrots taking water in puddles after it rains! The third bedroom is also at the front and has a pair of bunks and a pull out single bed. Air conditioning/heating and built in wardrobes complete the picture. All bedroom windows have wooden shutters for privacy and security.

Notes: We have 2 folders in the house; 1 with maps and tourist information - if you think we have missed anything of interest please feel free to add the information. The second has manuals etc for all the house equipment including how to log onto the internet. We have a washing machine and dryer in the house but it is very cheap to get your laundry done for you. We use a local family shop (details in the house folder) who do the ironing as well!
