Photos and Description of the Aragon vacation barn rental Sleep 2 - 4 people secretly set in rural Aragón

Pajar Torres is a beautifully restored barn in its own grounds overlooking the village of Santa Maria de Buil in the Sierra de Guara Natural Park. It’s at 911m of altitude and 16km from Aínsa. Once you’ve reached the village church, prepare to stay in second gear for a 400m ride along a bumpy track. It’s well worth the effort though. The kitchen/dining room is airy and light, with a high rafter ceiling, slab-stone floor and whitewashed walls. An old stone arch divides the kitchen/dining from the living area with its Moroccan inspired fire place. To the right of the kitchen area, a few steps lead you down to the double bedroom and to the bathroom. Above is a mezzanine gallery with two double sofa beds and floor to ceiling window so you can gaze at the views. The interior is both contemporary and rustic: colours are neutral, fabrics are decorative, and furniture is restored – antique or sleekly modern. From the garden, enjoy the magnificent views of the Aragonese Pyrenees.

Santa Maria de Buil is a 20 minute drive from Ainsa. Ainsa is the main village in the region of Sobrarbe, and there you will find all the sports adventure companies, restaurants, bars, banks, supermarkets, tourist office and the weekly outdoor fruit and veg market on Tuesday morning. Ainsa is located at the crossroads to three areas of outstanding nature beauty: the Ordesa National Park home to Monte Perdido the largest limestone mountain in Europe, the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park, entry via the magnificent Chistau valley and the Sierra de Guara Natural Park, world renown for its canyoning. All three parks offer an endless array of outdoor activites from one hour strolls along the valley floor to 3000m+ peaks like Posets and Perdido. Alpine wildflowers can be enjoyed all summer long, though May and June are truly spectacular months. There are good chances of spotting marmots, deer, 'sarrios' Pyrenean mountain goats, vultures, lammergeier.

Access: Access to the property is via the village of Santa Maria de Buil and then along 400 metres of track. Cars can drive to front door of property slowly.

Outdoors: To the front of the property a temporary fence has been erected. There is a sharp 5 metre drop at the other side of fence. Families with young children should be aware of this.
