This house has it all

LOCATION;--You cannot be any closer to the gorgeous soft sand crystal clear waters of lake Michigan! Walk from the house across the sand to the waters edge on your own PRIVATE little sand-path walk.

This beach is fine for beachwalking too. A gentle grade to the sand at the waters edge. No steep bluffs or 100's of steps to climb down (and back up) to get to the beach or rocky shoreline.

COMFORT-Ideally designed to maximize the viewing pleasure of Lake Michigan in a full comfortable house. The living quarters (DR/LR and KIT) are all on the second level along with a house length balcony to provide more opportunities to sit and enjoy the view, enjoy the sounds of the lake or grill on our gas-line grill some delicious steaks and watching the waves.

LOCATION 2-The house is in a safe, solid, close-knit friendly neighborhood beach community of Miller, just a few blocks from the West end of the West beach of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.

COMFORT2-The house is a 3 bedroom/3 bath that sleeps 6 with a king in the master, and 2 queens in the additional 2 bedrooms. The upstairs has a 42' big screen TV and the downstairs master also has a big screen TV. The kitchen is fully appointed.

LOCATION 3-If you are a Chicago/Chicagoland resident, you cannot get more bang for your buck with a minimum of time investment. 45 minutes from Buckingham Fountain! and you are at the beach, but not fighting for a parking spot and having no place to relax after being at the beach for you and your family. Instead coming back to relax, eat, drink, play some cards, chit-chat or read.

We do not do large 'events' that would put 20 people or so in the house. We are for families that want to be 'on the lake'. We do invite people who are staying with us to invite their friends, other family members over etc, we just dont do the big 'events' with a lot of people.

All in all a very comfortable beachhouse with an unbeatable location.

As a lifelong resident of Chicago i was turned on to this beach community awhile back. At first my thoughts were Gary? for relaxation and beachfront living? But this is a wonderful safe close-knit beach community and a lovely beach. We think you will love it also.

Why Rob Humpf chose Miller Beach

Having walked many of the beaches further up in MI (and yes many are nice) we find this one to be on a par with Oval Beach in saugatuck but not 150-2.5 hours miles from our front door in Chicago. Rather we are 45 minutes away.

I have stayed at this place multiple times in various seasons, and hope to stay again and again. I have mixed feelings about writing a great review on this place because I want to be able to book it when I need it! I'm in love with Miller Beach, this house is right on the dunes in a great location. It's roomy, lots of great light, very functional house and very, very comfortable. Looking out the big windows from the second story is never-ending entertainment. Miller Beach is a hidden gem, I hope to own a piece of it myself some day soon.

The house is great for a couple or two, or a family with children. It's quiet, and the beach is right there for your enjoyment.

Things to note:
- Parking is a premium in the neighborhood.
- There are limited services in the immediate area, but the intersection of Shelby and Locust is beginning to thrive again with a coffee bar, the Flamingo pizza place/bar, the Ocean restaurant, and now the Miller Market is open from 6a to 9p for fresh produce, a mexican deli, and various staples with friendly service. Thrive Acupuncture (and massage) is also located there, a nice walk from the house. Also Lake Street is perking up, with Cafe 444 and Mr. B's Bakery recently opening. This weekend there was an Arts Festival with murals being painted all over downtown Miller - great vibe here.
- It's close to the Calumet trail if you like to bike ride, a nice ride up the coast to Michigan for wineries, great burgers and shopping. There's plenty of mall action in nearby Merrillville if you're jonesing for shopping as well as a great concert venture at the Star Plaza.
- There are some awesome houses relocated from the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago up the road in Beverly Shores. Very modern even in this day and age.
- Take a scenic ride to Valparaiso for quaint shops and restaurants.
- You are less than one hour by car to downtown Chicago, one hour by train. There are rail stations in Gary and nearby Ogden Dunes.

The house is comfortable with vintage 70s decor, a spiral staircase to the living area upstairs, and plenty of bathrooms to serve! I can't wait to come back to Miller Beach and stay here.

Recently stayed at Rob's Beach House for a long holiday weekend. We had a great time here! The Lake Michigan views from the Living Room are even better than the photos! Sunsets, waves and Chicago Skyline. Nice layout with living/dining/kitchen all on the top floor. Easy walk over the dune to a flat sandy beach. Nice lake views from each of the 3 bedrooms as well. Meet my sisters twice a year - all agreed we would definitely come back here again. Bringing the dogs was also a huge plus - can be hard to find not a problem here.
