About Brenda Kiesel

We are a family of 5 with 3 girls that enjoys this place every day it is not rented. We have been coming to Tahoe to ski in the winter and Boat, Kayak, Stand-up-paddle, bike ride, raft, and horse back ride since the Day we were engaged across the street on the beach on July 4th. We still use the house any night it is not rented out and the kids LOVE it, LOVE it, LOVE it!.

The county still lists it as a 2-bedroom, but really it's an XL 1br with 2 baths & a half of an acre lot. There is one house next door, then the main road and then a massive mansion on the beach and a few house more and Sunnyside Resort gleams in the sun as a beacon of fun and laughs. We park the car Friday and leave til Sunday

Brenda Kiesel purchased this cabin in 1999

Why Brenda Kiesel chose Tahoe City

LOCATION!, LOCATION!, LOCATION!, and most of all, LOCATION!.

Huge lot (1/2 acre) and 2 bathrooms. Most homes up here have 2-3 bedrooms and only 1 bath. This has a huge bedroom upstairs and 2 bathrooms to shower and bath in. Meanwhile we are 2 houses in from the main road and walk to the beach, bike path, Popular Sunnyside resort, and Fire Sign restaurant. Walk to rent a kayak, jet ski or boat. We park the car Friday and leave til Sunday. Not a mansion but a cozy Tahoe cabin built the way they were meant to be.

What makes this cabin unique

This House was the FIRST Bert Anderson and is THE 'Classic Tahoe' cabin, with all the modern updates you need but not losing the feel and charm of the day it was built in 1951. Heated bathroom floor, Bathroom and shower upstairs with new bath and bathroom downstaris, tankless water heater for endless heated water. Large back deck of privacy with massive pine trees. It is set back from the road unlike most. loads of room to park cars and boat trailer and more

Guestbook comments from the owner

The Tamarack cabin was great! Such a cozy and charming house in a very convenient location. I'd totally stay there again!

Great little place, perfect location for some quiet west lake relaxing or snow sports

  • 5 of 5

5 minutes to Homewood Resort for snowboarding/skiing, 5 minutes to Tahoe City, right in the middle of quiet. Perfect little place for a couples getaway or small family, and exactly what you need if you like West Lake. Not much snow over our stay thanks to CA not remembering how to rain, but it was an awesome getaway regardless. The neighbors next to the place and across the street are very friendly and the hot tub is nice and warm. I used to live in Tahoma so Im sort of biased about the west shore over any other area and this place felt like home. Definitely would stay here again!

Lovely rustic cottage for two

  • 5 of 5

This was an ideal base for a ski weekend for two. The house is a great combination of rustic, quaint, and Hansel and Gretel. It is very small - especially the upstairs room - so I personally would not recommend trying to add more people in here (although I think the downstairs couch is a pull out bed).

The hot tub worked beautifully, the fireplace is old world wonderful, all the logistics were easy, location is good, and Brenda was very helpful and responsive. We strongly recommend staying here and would certainly return.

A lovely little cabin

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I needed a getaway and we found this little cabin near lake tahoe. It is quaint and has everything you need. The owner was quite helpful, giving us some information about lake tahoe, as it was our first visit, and we took her up on those suggestions. We were smack in the middle of north and south lake tahoe which is great because we were not too far from anywhere yet still far enough to enjoy the solace of the area. We loved our stay and would come again!

Awesome little cabin. Great location, friendly owners. Well stocked with towels (fabric and paper), kitchen utensils, even came with the fireplace ready to light! Clean and great for a couple's retreat or small family getaway. Can't be happier, thank you!

Cozy spot!

  • 4 of 5

Cozy cabin, just the right size for 1-2 people! Nice updated kitchen area, and well-stocked with the necessities. I had trouble with the internet, but the hostess was incredibly responsive and got it back up and running as soon as they were able. For a quiet getaway from the hub-bub, I would stay here again.
