Mill cottage is attached to rock mill, a water mill dating from 1815. It is in its own grounds with stream, copse, gardens and terraces. It is situated in the sleepy hamlet of arrow close to the medieval market town of Alcester. Arrow is the estate village for historic ragley hall home to the marquis and marchioness of Hertfordshire. Mill cottage overlooks the church and pastures of this prosperous organic estate. The cottage is attached to the main mill which was established in 1815 when England defeated Napoleon at Waterloo. In the late 1880's the mill wheel pumped potable water to Alcester in a bid to improve public health. Has a master bedroom but may sleep four with a sofa bed. The bedroom has a balcony, four poster, wood burner and twin ended tub. There is a spacious lounge with TV, DVD and sky. There is a sunny conservatory, Jacuzzi bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Welcome Cotswold cream tea and bottle of champagne. Linen and towels provided. Children and pets welcome.

It is situated in arrow, home of ragley hall a Palladian mansion designed by capability brown. It has beautiful grounds with flower and sculpture gardens and a children's adventure wood with a magical 3d maze. Mill cottage is 9 kilometres from Stratford upon Avon and 10 kilometres from Evesham gateway to the Cotswolds. Warwick, Leamington spa, oxford, Worcester and its Malvern hills and the city of Birmingham are accessible. Mill cottage is served by the pretty medieval town of Alcester. Drayton manor, and Thomas land, the snow dome and west Midlands safari parks are all very close for fun day trips.

Cottage was grubby (floors, surfaces). Mattress in studio needs replacing (you can feel every spring), duvet in main bedroom is so thin we needed coats to keep us warm. Downstairs loo was disgusting and no loo paper. Heating controlled by owners (weird!). Owner's dog playing uncontrolled outside - jumping up with no encouragement; for those who don't like dogs this would be a nightmare! No instructions/confirmation sent.
Owner's Response: The Studio is a seperate unit and the matress has been replaced, it hadnt had a test run for the night be me and apologies to guests past.
Heating is fairly agressive and controlled by radiators in Mill Cottage. They are rarely used especially that time of year, perhaps they were left off.
The cottage is always thoroughly cleaned after each guest.
Cocoa the labradoodle puppy is a nuisance to the world in general, she used to visit with me at weekends. We both have been rehomed! Not a nuisance now.
Instructions are always sent because The Mill must be found and keys must be discussed.
I am always on my mobile and ready with a rapid response to fix any problem raised at the time so everyone is satisfied: cleaning/matresses/puppy/loopaper, all of these are remediable fast.
I think a warm welcome, flexibility and willingness to help are real strengths here at The Mill and my other properties.
Apologies to the reviewer, I wish I had known of these problems at the time
