Wonderful chalet with fabulous views over the foothills of the Julian Alps. Sleeps 6-10. High quality accommodation with bathroom, large kitchen-dining rm, small double bedroom & living rm with sofabed on the ground floor. The kitchen has access onto a beautiful terrace with outdoor table & barbecue area & lovely garden overlooking the views. On the 1st floor is main living room with sofabed, double bedroom with ensuite bathroom & 2 single bedrooms. There is a flat screen TV, DVD player, satellite TV & internet. Blegos Chalet is located in the hills above the charming medieval town of Skofja Loka (20 mins drive), just 45 mins from Slovenia's pretty capital Ljubljana and 45 mins to world famous Lake Bled. The area offers excellent potential for outdoor activities such as walking & mountain biking in Summer, swimming / spa facilities in nearby Cerkno as well as excellent skiing at Stari Vrh & Cerkno in Winter (both 15 mins drive). Skiing at Krvavec & Soriska Planina 45 mins drive away.

Blegos Chalet is located in peaceful natural alpine surroundings with stunning views over the foothills of the Julian Alps 20 minutes drive from beautiful medieval town of Skofja Loka. Plenty of great walking and mountain biking in the area, swimming and spa facilities in the nearby town of Cerkno. Within easy reach of day trips to Ljubljana, Slovenia's pretty capital, the lovely lakes Bled & Bohinj and the picturesque Soca Valley. Great family and beginner-intermediate skiing at Stari Vrh and Cerkno (both 15 mins drive from the house). A great location for relaxing in beautiful mountain tranquility, for a ski or active holiday or for exploring Slovenia's many attractions from its central location in the beautiful North West of the country. Nearest amenities are a short drive from the house (10 minutes).

Ski: The house lies within 15 - 20 minutes drive of two excellent family friendly resorts, catering mainly for beginner to intermediate level skiers. The first is Cerkno which is known is Slovenia for its quality lift infrastructure, a good range of beginner / intermediate pistes, with a few harder pistes for more experienced skiers and a superb restaurant on the top of the mountain. The second is Stari Vrh which again offers a good range of beginner - intermediate slopes as well as more challenging black and red runs. It also has Slovenia's night skiing piste and a range of outstanding on-mountain restaurant options. Both resorts offer ski / equipment hire options. Further afield (circa 45 minutes drive) is the excellent resort of Krvavec, one of Slovenia's best all round ski resorts and Soriska Planina a small but charming forest resort again about 45 minutes from the house. Easy day trips can also be made to Slovenia's best known resorts at Kranjska Gora and Vogel (both CA 1hr 15 mins)

Chalet Blegos : our first footpath in Slovenja

A very calm house, where we could rest after longs days of walking ; a marvelous view on the valley and mountains around from the terrace : nice to have a late drink.... and perhaps see roe deers in the meadow just behind the barbecue ! ...

The location is very clean, with a lot of space and new equipment (especially the kitchen !...).

We surely would recommend this property. For those who are interested in nature and hiking, it's a good starting position to get into the Triglav National Park (towards East and West), with facilities (bank, supermarket...) within 10 mn, and Ljubljana is near.

Don't forget to buy in Srednja vas one of the best honeys we ever tasted...

wonderful quiet house still nearby attractions

Nearly on top of mountain with magnificient views over the surroundings, Chalet Blegos is very quiet and luxureous. On foot of mountain supermarket nearby as well as magnificient restaurant Premetovs and Poljana restaurant which was popular with our teen-kids. Skofja Loka is very nice. The lakes Bled and Bohinj are both amply within 1 hr drive and worthwhile as well as the fabulous capital Lljubljana with its zoo and swimmingpool. The house was very well-equiped and clean. It looked like we were the first ones renting. We very much enjoyed ourselves, although it was too warm (35 deg.!) to make extensive walks as we intended to.
