Mark and Allie met while we were both living in Mill Valley, California and moved up to their vineyard property in 2007. We have two children and make Pinot Noir. Mark grew up in Palo Alto and Allie hails from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Mark Ketcham purchased this estate in 2000
The Russian River appellation produces the world's best Pinot Noir. We grow our own grapes here on property and produce 1200 cases of premium Pinot Noir annually.
This home sits on top of a hill side with spectacular views of our vineyards and Eastside Road neighbors. We are close to town yet secluded enough to feel very private.
We arrived on September 21st 2014 for a four day visit to this Luxury Vineyard Estate Guest House. It was the perfect place for our visit to the wine country! My wife and I enjoy being outside and this deck with it's wonderful view was perfect for us. We walked the vineyards, picked grapes, and figs to have with cheese, crackers and wine. We visited many Vineyards for tastings, visited the Armstrong Redwood Forrest, and drove to coast for lunch. Healdsburg is a small town but offered many choices for dinning. Thanks Allie and Mark for the wonderful wine for us to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary trip and making us feel at home! WONDERFUL PLACE and WONDERFUL TRIP!!
We loved our stay at this guest house on a hill in a small vineyard. Beautifully appointed, excellent kitchen, outstanding location - quiet yet close to many excellent wineries and downtown Healdsburg with its cafes, restaurants and galleries. Our two boys (7 and 10) loved running around outside and hanging at the comfortable house. Make sure to talk to the owner and ask to taste his pinot noir and viognier - we bought several and can't wait to open them back at home as both were excellent. If you are lucky, you will also hear some outstanding stories! A great experience overall - we would highly recommend a stay. We will be back.
First time trip to wine country, couldn't have been better! Guest House was perfect, great location for visiting as many wineries as desired. Renee is fantastic and very helpful. Only regret, we didn't get to meet the owners in person, just means we'll have to plan another trip!
A wonderful place to stay in wine country! This Estate is centrally located. We were able to easily navigate to wineries in all directions. So many beautiful drives with-in a 50 mile radius. We even ventured to the Armstrong Redwood forest and to the coast. Healdsburg is five minutes away has many fine shops and restaurants. The Estate is well maintained and spacious. Allie, Mark and their two children were amazing hosts. They made the experience well worth it! So much better than staying in a hotel. Thanks!!
We loved staying at this private and luxurious vineyard estate guest house! We feel very fortunate to have found the listing and having chosen to stay here versus a hotel. Mark and Allie are the perfect hosts, making us feel at home, but yet also respecting our privacy. They welcomed us into their home for a private tasting of their superb estate pinot noir - the icing on the cake for our stay. We were traveling with our 24-yr old niece, who now has found new appreciation for wine....it's complexity, but yet simplicity of being born from a grape. The guest house is beautiful and comfortable - do not hesitate to stay here. The view from the balcony was stunning, and the roosters made our morning coffee taste even better. We hope to return one day. Thank you, Mark and Allie. And....cheers!
My wife and I had a great time during our recent stay. The guest house is as advertised. It's super quiet and private and super close to restaurants, farmers market, etc. It was more spacious than we anticipated and the full kitchen came in handy as well, not to mention the washer/dryer. The bed is super comfortable. We rented bikes and toured the many local wineries. This is an ideal location for this kind of trip. We'll be back! Thanks Mark for a great stay.
This guest house sits on the 17 acre vineyards of Ketcham Estate. We are walking distance from J & Rodney Strong wineries & we are a short drive to all Russian River Valley wineries. The Healdsburg Plaza is only a five minutes drive away.
In Healdsburg you will find world-class dining, chic shopping, antiques, farmers markets (Tuesday & Saturday), theater, and Tuesday night concerts on the Square. Healdsburg is a family-orientated town with a local baseball team, a Memorial Day Weekend parade & fair, Fourth of July Fireworks, loads of outdoor activities, and of course wine tasting.
We are also a five minute drive from the town of Windsor which has two weekly farmer's markets & free summer concerts of Thursday nights.
About 10 miles south is the town of Santa Rosa which hosts Safari West and The Charles Schulz Museum. The Sonoma County Airport (with bus service to SFO & OAK) is only ten minutes away.
We are about an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
