Waterfront! Once you enter this immaculate, extremely inviting and comfortable four bedroom/1.5 bath family home, you won’t be able to take your eyes off the incredible views of Sandy Bay and Pigeon Cove harbor in your front yard. Entering the house you will find yourself in a bright foyer with the original carved oak bannister dating back to 1898, when the house was built by "Dop" Hale for himself and his family. Dop was a descendent of one of the original settling families of Rockport and one of the most prolific builders in Pigeon Cove. The house was utilized as the dining house for the neighboring guest and rooming houses as well, and many were fed hardy meals while seated at the long table in what is now the sunlit living and dining room of Breakers on the Cove. In the modern eat-in kitchen (complete with gas stove, dishwasher, and frontloading washer and dryer) you can still see the original pass-through to the dining room china closet. Like the guests of yesteryear, you will enjoy the wonderful water views and breezes from the large wraparound porch, which includes a screened area for insect-free al fresco dining. The main floor of the house is completed by a small office (with wifi) and a half bath. Upstairs are four bedrooms (all with water views and air conditioning units) and a full bath with an oversized shower. Off-street parking for 2 cars and one additional on-street spot in front of the house. Dop and his descendants invite you to come enjoy this special place by the sea. Equidistant from spectacular Halibut Point State Park and Rockport’s Back Beach (about a mile in either direction), Pigeon Cove is a small working harbor with lobster boats coming and going with their daily catch, making the view not only beautiful but interesting and lively as well. A scenic 1.5 mile walk or drive brings you to downtown Rockport, with its shops, galleries, concert hall, restaurants, boats and more.
