EXPERIENCE LIFE IN ONE OF ITALY'S MOST BEAUTIFUL HILLTOP VILLAGES

Paciano Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Paciano is a medieval walled town built in 1324. It was voted 'one of the most beautiful villages' in Italy. It is a quiet and peaceful village with a population of less than 1,000 people. While tucked away in the splendid countryside, Paciano is 15 minutes by car to Chiusi, a train transit point South to Rome and North of Florence. During your stay at Casa Lagovista, you will hear the birds singing in the morning and see millions of stars at night. The atmosphere causes instant relaxation!

Casa Lagovista (means lake view in Italian) is located in the historic center of Paciano, steps away from our main piazza, 2 restaurants, 2 coffee bars and 2 food markets. The casa is a completely renovated apartment (1000 sq. ft) built into the ramparts of the wall of the village. The bedroom contains a comfortable King bed, sumptuous linens, a large closet and a balcony overlooking a green forested area and Lake Trasimeno. The bathroom is over-sized, contains a walk in glass-enclosed shower and lots of towels, soaps and lotions. The completely modern kitchen is furnished with granite counter-tops, dishwasher, a bright orange refrigerator, electric oven, gas cook-top and all of the requisite cooking tools to allow you to indulge your cooking whims.

The large living area contains a fireplace, a large comfy sofa, a dining table and a desk. WIFI internet connection allows you to stay connected from anywhere in the casa.

You can meet our on-site property manager, an American who has been living in Paciano for 10 years. She is fluent in Italian and a veritable fountain of ideas to make your stay in our village relaxing, informative and fun.

Please note that we have an adjacent renovated apartment, Lagovista Loft, also available. Accomodations for 2 adults. The two apartments occupy the whole top floor and afford lots of privacy.

Kerry Norman and Cordell Brown -- we live in Oklahoma City and have been traveling to Italy every year since 1990 and began renting places in Italy soon after. We dreamed of having our own place and decided on Paciano because of its location and charm. We love Paciano so much that we travel there twice a year and have made many friends, both Italian and ex-pats who have moved there to live.

Kerry Norman purchased this apartment in 2006

Casa Lagovista has every amenity you could want. After renting in many other places in Italy, we have made sure that we have included things that we missed in other properties. From the smallest detail (candles, tablecloths, novels which take place in Italy) to more functional items like umbrellas, robes, shopping bags, we have tried to anticipate your every need and want.

Sitting on the balcony sipping coffee or wine (depending on the time of day) and overlooking the wooded park behind us where all during the year there is something blooming is enchanting. On the other side of the apartment, the view is over the rooftops of the village and the countryside beyond!

Wonderful Experience!!!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in Casa Lagovista and had family/friends staying in Lagovista during the May/June time frame and had a wonderful time. The apartment is very nicely appointed and very comfortable. Far better than staying in a hotel, inn or b&b. Easy train trips from nearby Chiusi to Florence and Rome and we couldn't wait to get back to the peace, quiet and enjoyment of Pacciano and Casa Lagovista. Lovely views of Lake Trasimeno from the balcony and it is a great experience to stay in the village. We were fortunate to participate in a village dinner, which was a fund raiser for the village's participation in the Vatican flower art festival (Infiorata), and loved meeting the locals, as well as very interesting expats, and, needless to say, the food was spectacular. Great location for fun and easy day trips by car to many lovely hill towns. Paciano has two very nice restaurants (L'Oca Bruciata was a favorite, lovely family staff) and the bar just a few doors down from the apartment is perfect for morning croissants/expresso and evening prosecco). A very special, easy and enjoyable way to experience the Umbria/Tuscany area and we would highly recommend Casa Lagovista. Kerry and Cordell have developed a real jewel and have really thought of everything to make the trip fun, comfortable and easy (including plenty of electric outlet converters!). Those who visit are very fortunate to have the opportunity and should thoroughly enjoy. This would definitely be our choice for another Italian hill country adventure headquarters!

Best kept secret in Umbria

  • 5 of 5
Fabouslly appointed apartment where every need has been anticipated by the owners. Whether you are an adventure seeker or seeking peace and quiet, this spot works. Lovely breakfasts or romantic dinners on the balcony overlooking the Umbrian hills and Lake Trasimo make great starts or finishes to your day. Amazing day trip possibilities to Florence, Spoleto, Assisi, Spello, Pienza, Cortona, Orvieto, all the wonderful villages surrounding the Lake area and so many more that we didn't have time to visit. A car is a must in this area but parking is provided 50 yards away from front door. Owners provide a wonderful reference library for the area as well as a notebook packed with suggestions on restaurants and area sites. Every effort has been made by the owners to make visitors feel welcome and comfortable. The on-site manager was very helpful with suggestions on current happenings in the area. All you have to do is get there--everything is set up for a wonderful stay! A quiet haven!

Just perfecto

  • 5 of 5
We are a mature ( could mean over 18 but really a multiple ) who travel 22 weeks per year internationally ( from Australia ). Our accommodation is a key determinant of our enjoyment. This apartment is just perfect because:
1. It is largish and well appointed with little things of necessity like pepper and salt shakers and coffee, etc.
2. It is no more than 25 metres from a bar. Here you can buy morning cafe, a croissant, a birra or a gelato. And then you can come down at night and do it all again. Bellissimo.
3. Just before the bar is Macelleria Carni Carla ( butcher ) where Carla will provide you with very good meats of all kinds as well as good wines, pastas and some very, very good dried herbs to do with the Pasta.
4. The Bank Automat is a few metres further on in an alcove.
5. Parking is close and unusually free of congestion.
6. Forgot to mention the apartment has the only veranda ( perfect for two and a bottle of Prosecco) that we saw.

Tip: you own the joint for the time you are there. Spread out. Don't be afraid to chat with expats in the square near the bar, and including the locals who are just so friendly. Who knows, you might just come away with your best new, old friends in the world.

If you don't enjoy you life no one will do it for you

Beautiful Paciano!

  • 5 of 5
Our stay at Casa Lagovista was wonderful. The town of Paciano is charming and this apartment is just a short walk to the piazza. The apartment has everything. I loved the books Kerry and Cordell have there to acquaint one's self with Italy and the Italian lifestyle. Paciano's location is great also. We took day trips to Assisi and Rome. Florence is also relatively closeby. Both restaurants were ever so good and the people were friendly and accommodating as we tried out our new Italian. The view out the back door is beautiful. We will defiantly come back here. Maybe next time we'll bring another couple and rent the entire loft.

I could sit in the piazza in Paciano all day!

Our stay in May 2013 was wonderful! The apartment is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The kitchen was nicely equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The bedroom had large closets and a king sized bed. The bath had a spacious shower with lots of hot water. The bath and bed linens were exceptional. The balcony provided a beautiful view of the countryside and was perfect for an afternoon of reading.
We loved the ambiance of Pacino. It felt like a trip back in time but with all the conveniences of the modern day. Great restaurants and the people were friendly. We would love to return for another stay!! Nothing but our highest recommendations!!

Absolutely wonderful and will return!!

  • 5 of 5
The apartment in Paciano was everything we could ask for and more. It is a lovely town and the people are so very welcoming. The day after we arrived was Republic Day and we were asked to join in on the festivities - can't get much more welcoming than that! Margaret, an American who lives next door, met us with keys and assisted with setting up tours for us in Assisi and Florence. She was wonderful! The apartment had everything you could need and we cooked 2-3 of the nights we were there. There is a small grocery down the road for the essentials, but larger Coop stores close by to your big shopping. Be sure to pick up some of the local types of wines to try - they are fabulous. Things to be sure and do if you stay here - and I highly suggest that you do - is to go get a glass of wine at the bar and sit outside to drink it. Enjoy the peace of this beautiful place and let all your worries disappear for a bit. Our favorite restaurant was L'Oca Bruciata - was within walking distance and they had the BEST pizza I have ever had. It was thin crust with big flavors! If the weather is nice, be sure to go to the lake and take the ferry over to Isola Maggiore. The ferry ride was not long at all and the island is beautiful. The bar there has a wonderful garden in the back - we lingered there over a couple of glasses of vino rosso before having lunch at L'Oso - we had a table right on the water and the food was delicious! I really can't say enough things about Paciano and the apartment to do it justice. Let's just say, I'm definately going back!! If you want to experience local Italiian life at its best... this is the place for you!

Owner's Response: Wow, Sheila! Thank you so much for the glowing review. Cordell and I are so happy when someone really gets into the "Italian" life and experiences how wonderful life in an Italian village can be. Hope Mark's birthday was wonderful and I look forward to seeing you next week and hearing about all your adventures in Bella Italia!!
