Aloha nui loa! We invite you to take off your shoes and indulge yourself in fine island living Maui style – Maui no ka'oi. The beauty and majesty of the great blue Pacific await your arrival at our ocean front 'Hale'. Your cozy custom remodeled and decorated Kahana Reef condo offers breathtaking views from the open concept living-dining room area and from the lanai. From the lanai, you will see the island of Molokai which sits majestically across the channel.
Beautifully furnished with island-tropical inspired decor, you will be embraced in the spirit of aloha with custom faux-finishing complimented by neutral carpet and bright punches of island color, cool tiled floors, granite counters and a modern kitchen that will impress even the pampered chef. Your condo features one luxurious and spacious bedroom and one spacious bathroom highlighting a travertine marble tiled shower and granite topped counters.
The breaking dawn from our lanai is absolutely breathtaking and provides the perfect location for enjoying a cup of delicious Kona coffee, as Maui's humpback whales breach in the distance. This is also a great space for your afternoon 'pau hana' - pronounced pow-honna - Hawaiian for 'happy hour'.
The Kahana Reef is conveniently located close to an abundance of activities. Walkers and joggers enjoy strolling along shady Lower Honoapiilani Rd. Snorkeling is great just a few steps down from our sea wall that backs our ocean front unit. Paddleboard, kayak or swim at the nearby secluded pristine sand beach that is literally a few steps from your condo. A short 5 minute drive south, down the Honoapiilani Highway, you will find Ka'anapali's Whaler Village which features shopping and dining at Hula Grill, and of course world famous Ka'anapali Beach and Black Rock. Also along the way, you will find moped rentals, water sport rentals, and even a Farmers Market. Or, if your heart desires, you may venture about 5 minutes north towards Kapalua to play a round of golf, indulge in a day of pampering at the Ritz-Carlton, or dine at the Plantation House restaurant. Here is where you will find DT Fleming Beach, and just a short ways further north, Honolua Bay which is considered one of the best snorkeling destinations on the island.
Your condo offers a WiFi internet service hot-spot and cable TV for your leisure. You may also enjoy casually lounging with a good book around our ocean front glistening swimming pool which affords great whale watching, as well as a refreshing dip. Gas grills are available to use, for those evenings you want to dine in on the lanai.
The reefs of Maui offer a fantastic undersea world full of color and wildlife. ‘Ne honu’, Hawaiian for 'green sea turtle' will swim with you, just be sure to respect their habitat and space. Likewise, you might also see a Humuhumunukunukuapuaa – Hawaii's beautiful state fish - swimming nearby. Visit the local dive shop to book an excursion if snorkeling from a boat is more to your liking. Maui is loaded with fun for all ages that you will discover as you venture about the island. Whatever it is that your heart desires to do - hike the trails and find the ancient petroglyphs, bike down Haleakala, or brave the surf of the North Shore if you dare - you can have peace of mind that you will return at the end of each day to the tranquility and comfort of your condo.
We sincerely thank you for choosing our “Hale” at the Kahana Reef and we look forward to hearing all about your magical island experience, and of course, your personal reason for saying and believing 'Maui no ka'oi'.

'Thank you for the use of your wonderful condo. All my life I would ask my mother 'Why wasn't I born in Hawaii?' Now that I finally got to visit I know why I asked that question. My husband and I came for our 30th wedding anniversary and it has been so fun yet relaxing. We spent the first days sightseeing everything we could all over Maui and the last five days enjoying the view and beach by the condo. Lots of great memories everyday.'

Hi. Reg. No. w30302982-01
Gene and I are from the Sacramento area. While looking for property to purchase on Maui, we came across Kahana Reef number 209 and fell instantly in love. It had everything we were looking for-and more. Truly Oceanfront with spectacular views and a perfect location.
One of our favorite things to do at the end of a busy,or not so busy day, is to sit on our Lanai and watch the magnificent sunsets with a glass of our favorite wine.
When its time to return home we find our batteries completely rejuvenated and eagerly awaiting our next trip to our home on this magical isle.
Gene Trasti purchased this condo in 2000
We fell in love with this property. Because of it being oceanfront and its fantastic location-close to shopping, golfing and all the other activities that Maui is famous for.
We wanted our condo to be a 'home away from home,' so it has been completely remodeled with many upgrades and beautifully decorated.
SPACIOUS END UNIT WITH A MORE PRIVATE & SCENIC ENTRANCE
Fantastic location within walking distance to good food and great beaches! We had a blast waking up to the sound of the ocean and being able to enjoy breakfast on the lanai. Whales would breech and play all day, always a treat! Good snorkeling right in front which was super convenient! Definitely an amazing stay and won't hestitate to go back!
We stayed here for just over a week, you are greeted with the beautiful view from the lanai when you enter the condo. Overall it was very comfortable, the grounds were well kept, the pool was clean hardly ever used. We saw whales & turtles which was great. I would suggest a different mattress for the bed it was really hard. Some better beach chairs would be nice also. I was a nice place to stay and the owners were very helpful.
We stayed at this condo last year and it is even nicer than the picture. The owners are so accommodating. The view is spectacular. When you walk in the door it feels like home! The kitchen is set up nicely for cooking, the decor is beautiful. It is an end unit so it is a bit bigger, it was truly paradise!!
Thank you so much Gene and Theresa for sharing your beautiful Condo with us.
This is our 2nd stay in this wonderful condo and we just can't say enough good things. First of all, you can't get any closer to the water without being in it. We rush to get up and enjoy our coffee on the balcony that is merely feet from the surf crashing against the sea wall.
We have rented VRBO properties in various parts of the world and this place lives up to the pictures and descriptions as well as any of them. We love it and feel very fortunate that Theresa and Gene consider us a part of their Maui family.
The setting is awesome, the decorations are very nice, it is appointed and stocked with everything you could need and the owners are the kind of people you want to do business with. Stop your search.
Let me start by saying how wonderful the owners Gene and Teresa are! They are so kind and welcoming, we felt at home before we arrived. :-) When we got to the condo the first thing we went to was the lanai, that view is unbelievable! Completely ocean view for nearly 180 degrees. Amazing! Once we were able to drag our eyes away from the ocean we took a look around the condo. It's so lovely and very well stocked with most of your comforts from home! There's even some spices and coffee filters available.
We are from Las Vegas, were the humidity is nearly non existent... So we were a bit concerned when we realized there wasn't Air Conditioning. However, once you open up the windows and the breeze starts flowing through it's actually quite nice! It's was an adjustment for us with the humidity, but surprisingly it wasn't long before we were comfortable. We thought it would be too hot and muggy to sleep, but we slept just fine - with the blankets on!
We also got married while we were on Maui! Coming back to the condo for our honeymoon was perfect! We ate the majority of our meals on the comfy lanai. We even saw sea turtles! Another thing we really liked about the condo was the area in front was a small patch of grass before the ocean and there were lawn chairs provided. The beach was just a few steps away, but we preferred the lawn chairs so we didn't have to wash off the sand! When it got too hot, the pool was right there to jump in and cool off! This condo and location was seriously amazing!!
Another thing to note, if you're like us and are looking for a QUIET vacation spot, this is a nice choice! All the condos are one bedroom so there aren't usually large families with children staying here. Aside from the annoying construction going on (they were painting the building) it was VERY quiet and peaceful. All the people we encountered were so friendly, it was wonderful. We really appreciated the hospitality during our stay here. :-)
This condo unit could not be a more perfect place to stay while you are on Maui. It is beautifully decorated, and in a great location within the condo complex, near the stairs and elevator. The furniture is comfortable, especially the new furniture on the lanai, where we spent many hours watching the whales, turtles, and crabs who came out on the seawall. The owners were excellent to work with, responding quickly to my questions. The unit was very clean upon our arrival, and the patio doors were so clean we walked into them a time or two! We cooked many of our meals while we were there, and found everything we needed in the kitchen. The complex itself definitely shows its age, but the staff and groundskeepers were diligent in keeping it looking nice. The laundry room had more than enough machines, though there was not a change machine (bring quarters) and it closed daily at 6:30. Many of the owners there are full time residents, and they appeared to mostly be retirement age, and folks who like things quiet (since that also describes us, we fit in perfectly). We laughed about the sign by the pool forbidding playing "Marco Polo". The small beach accessible from the north end of the complex is a pretty little beach, and although the reef is not vibrant and fish filled, there were turtles to be seen while snorkeling there. Before we arrived, I had 2 concerns--would we be OK without air conditioning (yes, between the breezes from the lanai, overhead fans, and 3 extra portable fans we were always at a comfortable temperature) and would the pool be warm enough to enjoy (yes, it was refreshing at first, but after the first plunge felt heavenly, and we spent many hours in it). In the past, we have stayed in the very busy Whaler's Village area of Kaanapali, and this was a totally different experience--there was never a problem finding available lounge chairs, waiting for the BBQ, finding a parking place, or feeling surrounded by other people. The setting is ideal for people who just want to relax, swim, read, and enjoy the amazing oceanfront view.
